Great inshore or kayak for the lake. Dont think blasting thru the surf for offshore conditions would suffice, especially coming back in. The possibilities of getting rolled and snapping that trolling motor seem too easy. Sitting on top of a reef would be awesome though without having to go in circles or back and forth. That would help out in swift currents and windy conditions for sure. Great looking storage area and fish Measuring device table.

I am not sure that’s the best idea, you can put that same trolley motor on any kayak if that’s what you like most. If you like the kayak it self with the different storage options then that’s a little different but a PA has just as much if not more than the kayak in the video.

It's a nice kayak but needs some issues addressed with version 2.0 such as more dry storage compartments. Cup holders that drain water. If battery dies, wish it had a peddle option as well. This heavy kayak would be a challenge to pedal a long distance. Needs a better protective area for the transducer. Also predrilled holes for wiring seems to only consistently fits Humminbird units although a few others do work without making modifications to the predrilled holes. The trolling motor should link to the Humminbird unit and other units or even better to an app on our cellphones. This would make mapping routes incredible. Water seems to pool around foot area near seat. This should be looked at next round and in the mean time give the OT one way scupper plugs free with purchase until the issue has been resolved. The gear tracks should have a backing underneath hull instead of just screwed into plastic. Also it really needs horizontal rod storage that could be used during transport as well as on the water.

I am saving my brains out to buy the pdl 106. Lol. I am a boat builder by trade and the first thing I am going to do if I'm lucky enough to save enough to get one is put 3 coats of McGwires wax on the bottom and sides to keep the color from fading and mud staining. I love these things.

I started on the pelican, just wanted to know if I liked kayak fishing, loved it. invested in the Native Watercraft peddle, thought someday I might be able to buy a Hobie. Well so much for that move up. I love the 120 will be moving up to this in a bit, Does this come with, probably not or you would have said. I immediately have 2 questions. First what happens when motor or prop hits a rock or log in shallow water? Second how long will battery run that motor in wind current etc? A third question may be how shallow can you fish with motor in?

I saw another video that stated that the battery should last all day. They said it is dependent on wind, current, how fast you go, etc. They had been testing using it while fishing and they said it easily lasted all day for them.

I like them a lot but I’m still on the fence about them and the areas I like to fish yankeetown ozello crystal river. I’ve yet to see any videos of these in those areas

I have fished those area a bunch, and the biggest issue will be the grasses which are floating or come up almost to the surface from the bottom. The trolling motor will get into those for sure. However same issue with other boats.

My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. kzbin.infoUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!

Does the Trolling motor fit in the same slot as the PDL? So can you yank out the pdl and insert the motor and vice versa? If that is true, then wny cant you insert it ina 106? I am looking to purchase an old town pdl which my wife will use, but I would like to use it with the trolling motor?

@@mikesterloc I looked into the 106 and if you bought it with the pedals you could get a Trolling Mother to fit. I never found out if you could do the reverse and buy it with the TM and then purchase pedals later. I think since they sell TM for those who own the pedal kayak that is the safer way to go, although they may not be 100% made for your kayak like the ones you get if you buy it from the manufacturer. I would go to a store which sells both and look at the connection or hole in the boat and see if they are exactly the same? If they are then I would purchase it with the motor so that it is 100% made for you Kayak and comes pre wired with a battery.

Hi Manny - the battery boxes are not waterproof, however they are designed to prevent water from splashing or dripping onto the battery. The battery compartment under the seat also comes with a scupper stopper to prevent water from entering the area from below.

I wish Minn Kota were designed to connect directly to a lithium battery. Lead is so last decade. I know you can connect them to a regulated battery which means you dont get state of charge and you get large regulator losses for no reason.

Sonar mounting comes down to personal preference. Many people mount theirs on the accessory tracks on the opposite side of the kayak from where they like to land their fish. So, if you like to net and land your fish on the right side of the kayak, mounting your sonar screen on the left side makes sense.

Any deep cycle Marine battery will work with these kayaks. For optimum performance, we recommend a Lithium Ion or Lithium Iron Phosphate battery of at least 60ah.
