Old Town Sportsman PDL 120 Review

Reviewing my Old Town Sportsman PDL 120 kayak and accessories after 3 months of ownership. I've fished it hard and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I utilize the kayak in both freshwater and saltwater fishing trips.

It is a marvellous review. I am in the intracoastal water in Englewood lemon bay . Tons of fish and things to see .stelf is so important. I use a wildness cart. Redfish, Sea trout, Spanish Macro Bluefish. Have a Newport 46 lbs thrust trolling motor at the bow . Garmin echo map plus chirp. I just love this kayak

Can you give me the dimensions of that front hatch? I'm torn between the 106 vs 120. I would like to put a 100ah lithum battery in there

The hatch “usable” opening is 16x10.25.

There’s plenty of space inside hatch. There’s a small dry-box behind seat as well but opening is much smaller. I like the bigger kayak for inshore/bigger water (stability).

i love my old town pdl 120, only thing i dont really like is the seat, its comfortable and all but i keep popping out to the side, might be because i have a seat raiser but whenenver i shift to get behind me it pops out of the little indent thing the seat sits in. Id much rather have a seat like hobie or pelican has

I don’t have a seat raiser and never had a problem like that. Do you like sitting up higher? Does the stability change at all-I doubt it does, just asking.

@@Retire2Fish I have a 1.5 inch seat raiser, stability doesn't change, really it just makes it way easier to pedal and stand up. But even before I added them my seat always seemed to slide around in those grooves, thinking of adding something to keep it in better this year

@@H4zardWarning I bought my Old Town from a small local dealer, Silent Kayaks. I’m sure if I had that issue, they replace seat or fix the issue. Like I said-I’ve never had the issue but it could be common. Thanks for the comment! Check out some of my actual fishing videos. Much better than my review.
