Old vintage chainsaw bought CHEAP! How I got it running!

Did you have to take the fuel and oil reservoir apart to clean it? Or did you just access theough the filling holes?

I just went through the filling holes rinsing out with fresh gas to loosen everything up and it worked well.

Glad I could help! It comes in handy for a lot of stuff or even just for part numbers and then buying from Amazon or eBay.

Breaks my heart to see such a nice saw refurbished but not tuned right.. It cuts like a dog... Make sure you use 25 to 1 fuel oil ratio, second get the saw hot and tune it properly.. I used to own this exact saw and it eats the wood! Thirdly make sure your chain is sharp.. This is a great saw with lots of power... If its tuned right.

Thank you James for watching and pointing those things out. I too thought it cut pretty doggy but I thought the manual I found would be decent enough. I will adjust it next time it’s out. I’m glad to know once I time it proper it will cut much better! I have hardly used it since this video and I bought a pre mix can of 50/1 fuel, you think I should change that? Again thanks for the insight and I appreciate your comment.

@kiwi73 Jist wanted to say I used this saw for the first time in almost a year, played with the tuning a bit and wow! It woke up! Wish I had done it sooner, better late than never I guess. Have a great day.

Hey Boss: Thanks for the video. I have the same model Echo 302S. However my chain oiler fails to pump out oil. I've cleaned out the oil tank and checked the hose screen and it's clean. I removed the brass oiler plunger, o-rings appear to be in good shape and used compressed air to confirm the suction hose and the output port are clear. What do you think is happening?

How does the lobe on the crank look/ operate? Could something be going on there or it be worn to where it isn't pumping the oil pump? Just thinking out loud.
