No. The simplistic style fit the demographic of the game, where no-one gave a shit... fortnite consisted of all the kids and child-minded adults whilst also filtering out the toxic cod player demographic due to being "gay" and "childish". The graphic was so blissful and ignored what people would live to see and just gave you what you wanted to actually see. The graphic remained all through to season 7 before the pirate season came but even then it didn't stray too far until chapter 2. It's hard to explain but the atmosphere due to the poor graphics just slapped. Even back then it did, I remember already having a sense of nostalgia in the game and wondering why
