First time I went to Vegas was in 1982. I was in the Marines and we were doing military exercises in the desert. They gave us some time off, and got the troops a bus trip to Vegas. We stayed at the Continental Hotel/Casino for the weekend. I won over 500.00 between the Craps tables and slots (a helluva lot of money in 1982 dollars)! I was 21 at the time and I have been to Vegas over 100 times since then!

90's were awesome my Uncle would fly out with 50.00 in his pocket, a limo pick us up take us to 4 queens, he would sign for his money, most meals comped at sandwhich shop, and one primo dinner at Hugo's downstairs best steak ever

I have several really F-uped stores about gambling and one of them was at Bionions. They ran promotions were you got a ticket with every blackjack for a drawing latter in the week / month. At the drawing top pick got 5K then 1K 500.00 250.00 100.00 THEN I'm standing next to this elderly old man in a wheel chair his ticket is pulled and he wins a silk Bionions jacket. As soon as he realizes he is not getting any cash he starts sobbing But I needed the money. Gezzz some one please buy this guy some stake and eggs.

My "old Las Vegas" story: Can't count number of nights I slept "like a baby" in hotel rooms with locks that did not work - And, that adjoining room door that was NEVER locked.

I knew a guy who I worked with, he was actually as Native American as you can get. Looked just like the guy in the commercial where he cries because of litter. So he lived in the apartments downtown right next to the hostel, he would sit on his balcony and watch over the fence at the students(girls) layed out naked at the pool etc. It was like watching an ant colony, they would go from room to room to room and pour out on to Fremont St. Well, he would go walk through the Hostel lobby and pick out a super fine model type woman and say, "Welcome to America" and they loved him!!!! He got laid every night! He is a hero of mine.

Also at Binions during National Rodeo Finals the late 90s a very drunk cowboy at a BJ table in a loud argument over who knows what. This was the outside row of tables, he turns and whips a beer bottle into the men's room. At the time this was all tile so the bottle explodes with glass flying dude turns back and tries to flip the table, within a few seconds two dudes in trench coats show up with shotguns under the coat. It was intense to say the least. Those were the days. Was thinking about this last night. To be clear Binions had the standard security of the day, 65 + year old retired white guys with a gut. The one that sat by the cage took several groans to get off the stool. As this was going down my friend that lived in Vegas and was a long time Binions degenerate was getting all exited and was telling me I'm about to see the real security that 99.9% don't see. Yep there they were trench coats and short barrel shotguns., I kid you not it was like being on a move set right in the middle of the bar room brawl seen. ;+)

The guy you were talking about that rigged this slot machine was Ron Harris. And it’s believe that the reason because he turned away from being an honest guy was because of the murder of Larry Volk who was going to testify against American Gaming (AGC) I believe that’s what the name was. The owners last name was Bruno

Ceasar's would give $5000 gift certificates for guys with 50,000 line, plus 2 1st class airfares , and free 1, 2 bedroom suites. you had to play to your line though

At my local harrahs the comps and free play were amazing a couple of years ago but recently I think ceasars bought them or something like that and the comps suck now!!

Binions backroom / back bar late 90s early 2000s? 5.00 single deck BJ when the dealers keep their own tips. Betting a dollar every hand for the dealer it was really hard to lose. We also would get on a roll and the dealer would have so many chips in his shirt they would start to fall out. IMO out of 75 some trips to Lost Wages this era was hands down the most fun. Also probably the reason dealers don't keep their own tips anymore is trying to take a hit and the dealer saying NO! Good God Miss Molly we sure had a good time in that place. A BIG thank you to Becky for fu##ing it up. Not!
