[OLD] What's happening to the S.H.MonsterArts Line? Part 1

Part 1 of why SHMA is going down hill. It started out pretty good but later in late 2014 through 2016 it just went down hill. I understand there are some inconsistencies with the photos and the editing but I made the video to focus on the points and to reach the situation the line currently faces. And if it means going over every single figure then so be it.

The number of Godzillas I've gotten with bad paintapps and horrendous looking eyes. Gigan's wings basically snapping off from looking at them. GvK MechaGodzilla's thigh pistons breaking off at the pelvis. The list goes on.

Isn’t it kind of weird that it’s the more expensive figures that have problems? 2019 Godzilla: costs like 70 bucks, good paint, good articulation, and includes a beam. 2019 King Ghidorah: costs 180 bucks, bad paint, restrictive articulation, no accessories.

I’m lucky that I got Biollante when she was only 250!!!! I do feel bad for some people who didn’t get her cuz she is pretty good, but when I got her, her neck at the base of the body popped the off, then her jaws kept falling off in videos of mine so I keep remaking the video, taking almost around 30 minutes to make! Oh wow, so I've been collecting the line since it started. I had no idea of the '94 Godzilla was the first. I should be pretty grateful that mine has flawless eyes..but I've had to buy multiples of a few/look at several to get a good one. The QC on that area has never been consistently good; but it's gotten worse.

This is why I prefer Bandai Movie Monsters, sure you are limited to how much they pose but at least they don't fall apart unless you really force it. Not to mention the insane prices for some of these things you pointed out in the video even though Bandai Movie Monsters can be overpriced sometimes too but at least some of the ones that I've seen aren't as unreasonable as that Garuda.

I have the SDCC Godzilla. It's ok. The scuplt is good, it's the same as 1994. The tail holds and the legs are looser so it can move more. The down fall is they chose to use yellow ball joints rather than orange, so it sticks out through the Orange plastic. also on the tail the segments switch between a lighter and darker shade of orange plastic. No accessories. you might still be able to find it. depending on where you are though. If youre in the Los Angeles area there is a store in little Tokyo that has it.

What S.H.Monsterarts should do. Lower the price of pricey figures or include accessories with the pricey figures. If they made this then it would made a little more comprehensible to have a high price. Make more kaijus and Showa kaijus/Godzilla. This would satisfy the fans by having their favorite kaiju on display. And because I don’t have anything good to do, here’s my list of what kaijus I want. 10) Showa Moguera 9) Megalon 8) Kamacuras and Kumonga both eras (I put them on the same spot because they can appear in the same pack) 7) Megaguirus with Meganulons 6) Showa Baragon 5) Showa King Caesar 4) Hedorah both eras (I put it so high on the list because it would be interesting to see how they made it) 3) Varan (because he needs more love) 2) Monster x and Keizer Ghidorah 1) Anguirus. Now, you choose the accessories in the replies, because I’m tired of writing.

Yeah, I stopped collecting the line after the Godzilla 2001 figure. They're charging even more now, but the QC has gotten worse. Seriously, besides the teeth; the only real thing they need to get right are the eyes. They just all have wonky/fucked up eyes. That Diego guy is quite delusional lol. Excellent sculpt, excellent articulation, excellent paint apps..everything is EXCELLENT! They're just a tool for SH Monsterarts (not an honest reviewer).
