Excellent haul Alex! I loved everything. The joke about the red lantern was pretty funny. The plane with the cove I believe is for making railings and I love the spindle maker, I have a cast iron one that was made before the American Civil War. It was used for making wagon spokes. I always enjoy seeing what you find. Take care Brother.

Thanks for the extra info, the guy I got them from didn't know too much about them and I certainly didn't. Luckily my wife doesn't watch my videos, she likes some of Dale's because of the cat content. See you later 👍🏻

Cheers, I'm getting some good feedback about the planes too, just hope I can do a half decent job of saving them now. 👍🏻

Yes, I'm hoping to clean and sell most of it, should get my money back🤞🏻. Have had a strange idea of hanging one of the shop bell up in the shed though, guess I'll give that some thought.

@@Bloodshed.restorations I was going to suggest that, but it was so obvious I was sure you would have thought about it. I like bells. I would certainly find a place to put at least one. The question is wether you put it somewhere for your enjoyment, or somewhere for a practical purpose.

That's quite a haul Alex. You got some very old stuff. I like the door bells, and the crack about the red lens in the lantern was FUNNY. I am anxious to see what you do with all those wooden planes, there are very cool,That old brace is cool also, I have a brace that is similar. Have a good week.

It turned up some good stuff, I'm going to have a go at woodworm hole filling with wax blocks, the brace is really nice, think it'll get tidied up and hung somewhere in the shed, I've got lots to think about. Have a good one too.

Hi, I think the drills and planes are for wooden boat building, maybe. Interesting pieces of tools. Cheers from the Czech Republic

Hi, good hear from you, they're definitely specialist tools. That means I have to hang on to them, time for some research, cheers for the info👍🏻

I love the odd assortment ! The spirit levels definitely keepers. I've got a masonry hammer very similar that is in the queue to restore. how many old barns were built with braces/bits like that! Old coffin planes like that typically have severe cracks in them - yours looks to be in good shape. Look to be examples of old moulding planes.

They definitely turned out ro be more interesting than I first thought, one of them does have a nice big split in it and has a screw attempting to hold it together. Enough to keep me busy for a while.

Those curved planes are old Coopers planes...for barrel making.

Thanks, I'm going to do my best to save them, despite all the woodworm holes, I think they're really interesting tools.
