Oldblue - Massa Homage

Paying a sincere tribute to the past is just as important as planning your future. ‘Cause whether we realize or not, we might as well existed by the inspiration, influence, direction and movement shared by the one(s) before us.
Although only active for 3 years span as a brand, the impact and presence of Massa was quite substantial and contagious in the Indonesian local brand scene, or at least for us personally. We’re truly moved and greatly inspired by the presence of Massa. Although it’s a short presence; but it’s a deep and memorable one.
As a decent repro pair, of course we try to replicate about almost every aspect of the original pair. First and foremost we use the same exact denim fabric like they had in the past; that’s a beautiful 13.75 oz indigo selvedge denim sourced from Kaihara Japan. If you look closely, it has a unique beige weft and the selvedge id was constructed with double line of red yarns.
We also utilized some of the original ‘unusual’ details rarely (or never) found in regular Oldblue jeans. Like the double chainstitch on the waist band, single felled inseam, and its bartacked back pockets. Of course we do need to leave our own mark too, that’s why you can see the distinct leather stamp (although it’s also inspired by the original which has very simple type-writer logo type).
