Worked on a dairy farm outside Oldcastle in 1974,I used to phone home from a hotel in the town little did I know my telephone calls were been listened to by the receptionist in the hotel and the contents of my conversation relayed to my employer. My co-workers weren’t very friendly very cheeky and nasty individuals. Thankfully I left and never returned.

@@irelandandtheworld2085 I done some research,the owner of the dairy farm was Alan James Minchin Kilroy (deceased Dec 1974) who was an army officer in the British Army. He served in India and rose through the ranks to be promoted to Lieutent Colonel. Subsequently, he returned to Oldcastle and purchased Castlecor House and farm in the 1930’s, where he later established a noted prize winning Jersey dairy herd. I think his son ran the farm,William Kilroy (deceased Aug 2006) I would love to go back to find out if the farm still exists. I’m from Downpatrick Co Down.
