The Standard 8 looked class in that field of cars. A great turn out by the looks of it, the weather turned out not to bad at all, could have been a lot worse. Thank you for the excellent video once again.

Thanks, the forecast had been pretty terrible leading up to the meeting, but sometimes you just have to look out of the window and if it looks ok, go for it. Thanks for watching.

Considering the poor weather conditions that was an excellent turnout and looks a good event especially for an evening one. Quite a cross mix of age groups also attending which is nice to see.

👋 Hi I didn't know that there were pick up Morris Minor vechiles. I have never seen one until your video. And the white Volkswagon Golf pick up too. I had recorded on my phone a 1961 Vanguard pick up here parked in a street a few years ago. And it was the first time i had seen one. I deleted it , so i don't have the recording anymore. I liked the big bright yellow cement truck. Thanks.

Take home 1, The yellow VW Beetle, 2, the yellow Lotus Elan, and 3, the yellow Foden Cement truck. Ok, I'm just a sucker for yellow. 😊 Dad arrived home with a ford E83W van circa 1967 told mum he was going to teach her to drive in it. Mum went nuts telling him to get rid of it i wouldn't be seen dead in it etc etc. Dad really wound her up.then confessed he was doing a bit of work on it for a mate. She told him to get on with the job and get rid of it. As a 10yr old i loved its charm. The Rover P6 police car brings back memories. I had four encounteres with one of those when driving my 1964 mini, circa 1976 , I got away every time 😅 no trouble in any other car i owned, just the mini. Yet again another enjoyable video.

I have a 1961 mk1 sprite frogeye one of the last made for the UK. I drive it when ever I can even just down the local shops go to shows BUT NEVER IN THE WET. If I get caught out its back in the garage heater and dehumidifier working. Also hair dryer pointed in those hard to get places. It just means to much to me

Nice to see the Standard stepped up to the challenge again, while presumably the 4CV still sulked in the garage. Had to smile at the trio of bubble cars; a comment sight in my youth. Loved the Wolseley Four Fortyfour, the Minor Estate and that ubiquitous, but lovely, blue MG. Thanks for braving the elements to bring us another video in the comfort of our dry sofas!

Just waiting for a few parts to fit on the 4CV, they're coming from the US and the seller was away for a time before he could post so it's dragging on a bit ... proper update on that score soon, hopefully ...

Loved seeing the Hillman. The bubble car, especially the pink one reminded me of The Jetsons. What a lovely mix of cars, although the fizz fizz pop pop noise would have done me in. The country/gov sticker was funny and oh so true. The Judge Dredd vehicle would have been up the road from me at Shepperton Studios when it was filmed. You get to see many a strange or old motor on the back of a lorry heading or leaving there.

hi, great video, love the ww2 jeep and the old l/rovers,that fordson major with the v8 engine is amazing, sheer brute force ref to the yellow Foden used to see them all the time in the 60s the cab was known as the Mickey Mouse cab.

It would have been good to get a better look at that tiny Planet tractor. There is a kind of vehicle I sometimes see in rural Hungary which seems to be a converted rotavator with a seat and a trailer. Sometimes they are used as family transport, with the wife and kids in the trailer!

I'll bear that in mind, I'm sure I've video'd it before somewhere - maybe Llandudno, or the Smallwood rally. I'll keep an eye out for it though and will grab a few more clips if I remember :)

Great collection of old and new, the four wheel drive Leyland tractor was quite rare and looked in excellent original condition. A real soft spot for the light blue 2 door mk 1 Escort, had one very similar in green. Most of the 2 door cars end up in RS2000 / rally car spec. Same goes for the standard Sierra, probably more Cosworth replicas about now than Ford ever made.

Makes me feel old, seeing the very dated, 'jam sandwich' police Rover. Great video, fine entertainment. Peace be unto you.

I had a Honda Express in blue and white back in the early 80s. It was quite hopeless. No torque so it wouldn't go up hills.

Thanks for braving the weather. What are the criteria for 'exhibition' vehicles vs spectators' vehicles (ie, what determines which side of the fence you can park)?
@oldclassiccarUK
@oldclassiccarUK Жыл бұрын
Wellllllllll it's not really set in stone, hence "Anything Goes" as the title, but generally if it's a vehicle that someone is enthusiastic about, it goes left, otherwise is banished to the public parking area. I think (but I'm not involved with its organisation).

@@oldclassiccarUK Thanks for the prompt response. "They were all someone's pride and joy once" - so said the owner of the breaker's yard where I worked in the mid-70s, adding that "we can't keep them all".

At the beginning of the year I jot down all the ones I've been to, then start researching to see if they'll take place again in the new year. Facebook events are handy in this regard for notifications about shows coming up, especially those nearby.

No not this time, I think the iffy weather put off a few people with the older cars. Fortunately Jaguars appear in many of the other shows we've been to.

Excellent video. The Wolseley at 15:35 is a beautiful motor. It reminded me of the police car chase in the Lavender Hill Mob with Alec Guinness and Stanley Holloway rallying around central London in one of these or similar.
