There's nothing quite like being in an old city on a cold, drizzly day! I just love doing that. I'd thrift awhile, then tuck myself up in some coffee spot with one of my newly thrifted books...yeah!! (Coffee shop/ Chinese Restaurant...either would work, and HAS, lol!) I got to peek in a thrift shop on South Street on the ONE day I was ever there. Good Stuff!

Your post made me smile. I cannot parallel park to save my life now but back when I was 17 I was so badass that I could parallel park on the hilly streets of San Francisco. My father was a good teacher but as you know...use it or lose it.
@Kathy222112 күн бұрын
@@phoebeintheforest Yup. Same. I did it in drivers ed.; and when I went for my drivers license, my dad removed the truck gate so I could see better. I have no need to do it on a regular basis where I live now, and I’m just too intimidated to stop traffic while I attempt it.

I love cats in antiques stops and bookstores, especially the cranky, ancient souls who will haul-off and bite you, and then see what you'll do. I keep petting them, and they're fine. I love it when you show us the old streets of Philadelphia. It's great to see all the old buildings still brimming with life. I suspect you didn't purchase The Lady of the Blue Motor, and though I would much rather buy it from you, I might have to find it elsewhere, since I love the cover and it has delightful illustrations. By the way, might I recommend Booth Tarkington's 1909 little novel, Beasley's Christmas Party, a lovely little volume, and worth the price for the first 6 pages, in which there's the best description of an old home, and the impressions it leaves on one who appreciates old homes. I return to it often, for comfort. Thanks Scott!

There are parking lots (some) and parking garages. Although I hate them. Mannix on seventies TV (1967-1975) was always running from the bad guys there on foot. Plus a lot of them have very small spaces.

🤣😆 Me too. I think it’s the performance anxiety associated with it. I’ll park on the other side of town and walk before I put myself through that humiliation!
