i miss those days of the pre internet era, where tv shows and magazines were all the hype you could get. I remember the official Nintendo magazine getting a n64 shipped overnight from Tokyo and then doing a massive next issue feature which just blew our minds at the time. even 20 years later SM64 is still IMO the most influential game of all time.

It's crazy that Goldeneye started out as an on-rail arcade style shooter, I've been reading some Nintendo Power mags and Goldeneye wasn't even that hyped.
@TRJ22419872 жыл бұрын
I remember renting Goldeneye when it very first came out just because we rented a game ever Friday, and it was brand new, not really knowing a whole lot about it, but I don't remember going into the rental with a ton of hype other than we had seen the movie. And then played the first few levels and was amazed. My Dad and I drove around a few different towns before we found one copy at a Kmart and I guarded the shelf while my Dad tracked down an employee to buy it. And then once we had it, I remember it very quickly got recognized as one of the greatest games ever. But I seem to have the same memory of the prerelease, that there wasn't necessarily a ton of talk about the game
