I just killed him today with the classic Drak and Jaina team! Both with execute and blizzard and whelps. Gargoyle for the sons, and banshee for the hounds. It was super close but 🥳

we did it with meet wagon still this week, it burns quite slowly, the second payer needs to support more but still works.

It is still possible, but the last phase is much harder.

@@OldGuardian yeah we messed up there too a few times. if you lose the right base and the catapult starts fighting the wave instead of ragnaros its pretty much lost

thanks for the strategy and gameplay. question is, if i can manage to get wrogen to epic so its a natural 30 without emperor, then you would go with jaina/jaina instead? anything else u would swap in the army?

Emperor still gives the Worgen burn damage even without Hubris, and a 32 kills Ragnaros even faster, so I don't think there's a need to change Leaders or armies. Jaina/Jaina does not really give you anything outside of spells, you don't need Worgen for that comp. Maybe some kind of Sneed/Jaina would be interesting for increased income.

Why Obsidian Statue talent on Gargoyle? Isn't Wing Buffet (or even Aerial Superiority) better for this specifically?

Doesn't matter too much. I chose the statue to potentially delay Sons if Gargoyle happens to die, which it didn't. It does not have a long way to go, so speed does not help that much. Aerial Superiority would do absolutely nothing because Ragnaros does not have flying minis.

I did effectively this same strategy but with an Earth elemental instead of a worgen last cycle. My Earth Elemental was legendary and could take quite a few hits.
