Just an editors note here. When I enter the room at 19:10 that fireplace matches one almost to the T that came out of a house in Knoxville that was crafted in the 1760s.

Ya know, I have just never been able to get into fiction of any kind. Who needs it when there is so much real, true, and tangible history?

Thank you. I tried to contact the family to see it. Sadly, Mary passed away in Nov 2021. The uniform was an Eisenhower coat. WWII and Korea. It is back for us US Army folks to wear.

Really enjoyed your video and subscribed to your channel. I just came from Facebook reading your reply to my comment under your post about my Grandad Dickerson being born in Stony Point. Beautiful old mansion!

The Mrs. Armstrong you referred to, who someone was trying to contact in 1939 was my great grandmother. She was at that time living with my grandmother Emma, my dad, William Armstrong Basnight, and his aunt Jesse Armstrong in Seattle, WA. I'll be in Knoxville on the 24th and 25th. I'm hoping to come look at the place, which I've never seen, though I heard about it plenty from my grandmother, who was raised there. I never met my great grandmother, who went by Jimmie. Jimmie's husband was a Federal Tax Collector, and all three of her and Jesse's brothers were medical doctors. If anyone can introduce me to someone who can help me take a look around, I'd love to see it for myself.

Is this the house that has been known to have slave shackles in the basement?
