Also, love that white shelf (3.99). The cherub soap dish. Let's talk about the iron architectural piece. I love that. Oh my, the brass desk lamp is a fabulous buy. I haven't been to a Goodwill in quite awhile. I'm surrounded by Salvation Army and many consignment shops. The Goodwills are a little further away from me. But, I love to frequent the stores nearby.

Elizabeth, I really enjoyed the items you choose. You obviously like Renaissance related pieces; like the pictures of works from Michaelangelo, the little cherub ceramic dish, the heavy iron filagree wall hanging ( I also thought it would look lovely in from of a fireplace), the brass sconce and brass scalloped lamp. Very nice. The classical music in your video was also a great choice. Love the horse head bookends. All, very Renaissance. A beautiful time period. I collected on that theme once too. The music was very refreshing. Enjoy them about your home. God bless

Hi. I found your channel by accident and I love it. You have such a beautiful home and I really enjoy going thrifting with you and seeing you styling afterwards, even I would not have picked everything you did. From your haul, I only would have choosen the architectural metal piece, which looks fantastic. I just would stick some felt or other "spacer" on the back, so that it does not lean directly on your wall to avoid rusty stains on the wall. I liked that the horse book ends stayed as they were. I also own an old home, 135 year old cottage, in Louisiana! Your a lady with my kinda heart! You have to really have a love affair with them, because updating and redoing them and living in the mess really gets old! But I’ve always loved old homes and I just can’t see ever owning new, when your heart screams when you see a beautiful old lady painted and loved by their keeper( owner) God bless you and keep thrifting, that’s another thing I do that is dear to my heart! It’s the thrill of the hunt….. for those old treasures!

When my son was an infant we purchased an English buggy in that was that exact style. It was green, blue. black and cream plaid. We purchased from a couple who moved here from London to work where my husband works. They used to print a paper every month where employees could post things for sale. I love the metal decorative piece, the artwork (beautiful but too pricey), the tray your mom found and the gold candle sconce thing are my favorites.

I especially loved the iron piece - I also buy things like that - I have a few vintage floor grates, too & like you said, I put them above artwork, etc. - I never hang one piece on a wall & walk away ! I always like to sort of “stack” wall decor - I’m from N.O. originally & so I have collected pretty fleur de lis over the years & will put them above something else & then a lot of times, sconces on each side - I think wall groupings make so much more of a statement - it’s so nice that you & your mom thrift together - my mom & I did that, too - not when I was young, but as an adult - we found a lot of treasures & they are some of my favorite memories - I love your music, too, by the way - really enjoy your videos ! Thanks for sharing !

@@oldmaplehome My mom was pretty frugal - lol - but I have been known to buy things that I like even if I didn’t know what I would do with them because “someone” might like it & I have had friends shop my stash ! Nowadays, it has to be something I just can’t live without because I pretty much have refined my decor to things I really love - I’m originally from N.O. but have spent most of my adult life in Florida but every time I go back to visit, my sister & I would always go back to our favorite thrift & antique stores & then try to fit everything in our luggage on the way back ! Anyway, enjoy all the time you can with your mom - I really miss mine 😰

Hello Elizabeth ~ I love it all ! So excited that you did get those pieces of Art !!!! Then the metal Architectural piece, the Horse Head Bookends , the Cherub and the Tray….told you I loved it all ! LOL!!! I’m on the hunt for Silver Tea Pots, creamers and sugar bowls for a Bridal Shower. I did get a box of Silver Candlesticks, a Silver Champagne Bucket, 2 Silver Tea Pots, 4 creamers and 3 sugar bowls for $25.00……I was jumping up and down!!!! I couldn’t believe no one was bidding on them! That won’t happen again ! So I have 3 Tea Pots and 5 more to go! LOL! 8 tablets to do for this Shower ! I have until May of next year. But I’m a planner so I like everything at least almost ready 2 months ahead ….. can’t help it! Loved the scripture at the end ! How true and how I look forward to that glory ! Amen…. God bless ! 💛🙏💛
