Love this, looks so good! Gas plasma doesn't look as saturated as it does IRL - my Toshiba T3100sx has a very orange display (the later examples are closer but still not quite there). It also only uses 16 shades of orange - playing Lotus III on it sometimes colours would be very similar or even the same, making it practically impossible to play at times!

I remember those red gas plasma panels... in retrospect, I don't understand how those red displays were considered acceptable :-p Ambar, on the other hand, 10/10 :-)

If you needed resolution rather than color, and the alternatives were low-contrast LCDs with no backlight and a viewing angle lower than the room temperature in °C, those orange/red plasmas were pretty good!

@@x86VileR gotcha, that makes sense!

Okay, simulating, but the contrast of the simulations are way better than the real screens.

The darker red gas plasma panel resembles the Nintendo Virtual Boy, but without the stereoscopic 3D.

I've been meaning to ask. How did you make the animated video at the beginning before feeding it into the script? Wonderful work. Thanks!

That was taken with the HP 100LX 'Connectivity Pack' software which simulates the palmtop interface on a PC, so it's possible to record a raw video with DOSBox etc.

How do I use this? I have the video file, FFMPEG, the .bat file and the .cfg file in one folder. I run the .bat and it instantly closes. Edit: I did the thing
