I was wondering why this popped up in my feed LOl. But then I saw it was a travel video. I travel a lot too, mostly solo. I have only been to Vegas once and got heat posioning... I didn't even know that was a thing. I had to come back in a wheelchair. That was 2009 I think. I haven't been back since. Maybe I will take your advice and try it once more but in the winter. It was March or April when I went that one time. Nice video.

"Heat Poisoning"?!??!? I've heard of heat exhaustion and heat stroke but this is the first I've heard of something called "heat poisoning."🤔

@ilovegoodsax neither had I. It's similar to sun poisoning without the sunburn and is caused by heat in the way heat stroke and other heat related illnesses occur. Symptoms are fever and chills, nausea, headache, unable to eat or drink without getting sick, loss of mobility etc. Non melenated people tend to get sun poisoning rash with it. Melinated people can too but usually don't. Most medical people just call it heat related illness.

Actially. most strip resorts/hotels will let you check in earlier if rooms are available. I've checked is as early as 10am with the MGM properties. Aria, Bellagio, etc.

@@OLDSCHOOLSOULFOOD Not my experience, sorry they make you wait. I go 2-3 times a year. I have never waited til 3. As I stated, I always stay at MGM rewards properties which Cosmo is now a part of but have not been added to the reward programs. I just go to the the counter and check in, the last time in a few months ago. I arrived at 10am but had to wait til around 11:30 for a room unrtil about 11:30 at the Park MGM, no extra charge. I'm 73, been doing it a while. Have a great day. I guess ir depends on where you stay sir. Have a great rest of your day from California. By the way, I'm not a high roller either.

I understand the heat. I have been to Las Vegas in August, January, April and May. It was nice everytime. August was hot but not unbearable because I walked on the side of the street where there was shade and didn't walk that far. I was there for a show at the Dolby Park MGM and was staying at the Park MGM. I love staying there because I am usually there for a show in that hotel. Sorry you didn't have a good time in Las Vegas this trip. You'll go back and it will be better.

Chef, I was there July 10- 14th and you are correct that heat was a beast!!! I'm from Florida so I'm use to heat as well but that Vegas heat was a whole other animal they did say they were having record heats one day it was 114 degrees while I was there

The Grande Luxe was meh to the lowest degree. Food was overpriced for the quality and the service was SLOW. Wouldn't go back. My 1st time in Vegas was also for July 4th & it was 113 every day. The evenings didn't get cooler than 100. Couldn't enjoy it.

Those are snow, crab legs, which are always small, king crab legs are the big ones king crab legs here in California and Nevada they about $80 a pound they not gonna put those in the Buffet lol

I am sorry you did not enjoy this trip as much, but now you know not to go in July or August. I experienced that dry heat one time in July, so now I always go to Vegas in October, November or December. Those are the best months for me, and I feel comfortable. This year I am going in October. Weather can make a difference, I am sure you will enjoy your next visit more.

When I went to Vegas back in the 80's the buffets were priced reasonably @ $10. The weather was brutal, but I do not remember a tidal way of children. Now that I am older, I prefer less noise, but the food prices have turned me off completely, so buffets, especially in Vegas, are ridiculously overpriced, and I shall not partake.0

Hello Chef Jeffrey. I'm sorry this wasn't one of your best trips. For me, the best time to travel is in Sept or Oct. Weather is usually mild, and the kids are in school! Also, prices may be cheaper because it's off season. Thanks for sharing your video. I enjoyed it!

Im glad you had such a nice hotel room to stay in and it sounds like you got some good rest once there. I hope you had some very good food while you were there, even though your first lunch didn’t start off good with the pasta. I can’t take heat anymore. I lived in it a many a years n grew up in it. Here in the smokies of western NC, im a baby when it gets hot (what I feel Like is hot now) and humid. I guess id rather be cold than hot. Anyway, thanks for sharing your trip.
