I wish I could have some kind of life like this. Chances are I won't, but I really enjoy watching interviews like this because I really resonate with the members of the bands. Metallica and Megadeth were only kids when they started their careers and that kind of gives me hope for the future. I'm from MN, the same as Ellefson, and that really makes me feel good because I view Minnesota as a place where nothing ever happens, other than Prince.

The part about live albums is hilarious in retrospect as shortly after they released some B-Side singles and VHS with live material on it then a few years later they released their first live video and now there's tons of live concerts they've done. It's like Iron Maiden saying keyboards/piano don't belong in Metal then they made Seventh Son.

I love how you claim to have read the book but made up your own bullshit anyway. If you had any comprehension of that book, you would know that they were all clean at this time, the Countdown to Extinction era Megadeth. Ellefson had been clean for a few years and never went back. Marty was never an addict and Menza only indulged occasionally. Mustaine relapsed a few more times in the following decade but had been mostly clean since Rust in Peace. In other words, the handful of years when Gar Samuelson and Chris Poland were in the band and the couple years that followed their exit were the only time any of them were really on heroin and coke all the time. And that has jackshit to do with any incarnation of the band from 1990 on up. Are you sure you read that book? Didn't just skim through it look at the pictures? Either way, I think that's a pretty fucking silly take away
