This was my first mountain bike. Purchased at the Army PX in Germany, and ridden throughout the Bavarian Alps. Gave it to a buddy when I came home. Hope it's like this one, and still on the trails nearly 40 years later.

I was just in your neck of the woods last week. I went to the Bicycle Collective in Salt Lake and Provo while there and scored a couple BB's and a set of Profile Designs bar ends, all for $17. Bought a t-shirt also because I love what they're doing. Just wish we had something near me here in Oklahoma. We did at one time, but it closed permanently during Covid. I told the guys at the SLC location that I had only heard of them because of yourself. Love that SLC is working on so much cycling infrastructure.

Very much a fan of both basic tuning or ASMR. In my own life I wobble between resto-mod and restoration. Finally broke down to first road bike; 74 Windsor Carrera Sport (Mexico) similar to my first 10 speed Windsor in the late 60s in HS. 50 year old bike in beautiful condition and being from Mexico is a piece bike history.

Excellent video! I also own a Peugeot Atlas 87 (Deore, Made in France, amazing bikes). The new video concept you're offering is perfect, thanks!

I appreciate how you explain how to do things step by step. It’s really helpful ( although you do agreat job in other videos too) for those of us trying to give new life to old things 👍. I love your channel and have learned a ton

I picked up a 1984 Peugeot Urban Express this year, stock with bull moose bar/stem. I also have a Peugeot PH501 road bike with the same paint scheme as this bike.

I've got a ~ '89 Peugeot Alpina with similar paintjob. It has a full-on Shimano 105 1050 groupset, including the hubs laced with Mavic rims.

I bought one of those a year or two back, fixed it up and rode it around for a while as a commuter. It was actually pretty great geometry and I kinda regret selling it. I put gravel king tires on it. The chain stay U brake on mine was not my fave.

Good Video! A word of caution: hold on to that seatpost as some of these European bikes have odd size seatposts (not common in North America. It's because Peugeot uses metric size CroMo tubing and therefore the seatpost size has to fit accordingly. Ask me how I know :-) ? thanks for the Video!

Will you need to use the same pull, if you need to get to the BB ever again? I think I would have changed the tires. I would want the tires to look the same. I tend to go high end on tires myself (schwalbe tires) and get very few flats. Thanks for showing how you fixed it. I really like this video. Maybe even a little bit more than the prior ones. It was not as much about making the bike look good. More about how to fix some problems. You explain things well. That said I really enjoy all your videos.
@Gromitdog1Ай бұрын
Would be nice to have the part #'s read off of the various components. That BB looks really old with the nut fastener instead of the later bolt.

Be cool if you can get back into a totally rebuild a Bike. Where are you restore a bike from stripping down and repainting the frame. I enjoy it as well as where watching you working on a bike. Would love to see you totally restore and rebuild a classic Antique bike or Vintage bike as well. Would be cool to see how you would do a bobber bike.
