I fell in love with this song, I'm 83 yrs old, I play by ear, I wanted to play it, I was able to play it! Then my hearing went off key and out of tune. and it was the biggest loss of my old life, until I was able to hear Andy Williams sing it even with hearing devices, Andy Williams brought that song back into my life! A huge THANK YOU! Everyone's comments are wonderful!

God bless you. My dad died at 96 last year and he struggled with severe hearing loss in one ear. Often times... especially at the end of his life he was obviously not hearing what was being said to him even with his hearing aid. He loved Jesus though, and he praised God his whole life so I am comforted to know that he's in Heaven and surely his hearing is the best it's ever been. This life is fleeting. Eternity is forever and if we go to Heaven everything is restored!

I was born in 1971 and my great aunt played this song and I would also hear it on the radio when I was a small child. We start forming memories at the age of 3 And this song is incredibly sentimental to me. My aunt has since passed away many years ago. It must have been a great time to be an adult. Some much love all around and when songs like this were sung With deep meaning. We now live in a day an age where everyone is So superficial and self centered, everything is about the status quo. Those were simpler times when people actually were looking for love In their lives. I have grown to be an old soul and listening to this song Brings me inspiration and so much hope.

I was born in 77 so just a few yrs younger than you. It may not seem it but every generation has said the same thing about their youth as you do now about yours.. that times were simpler and more innocent then than they are now. What is actually true is that YOU were simpler and more innocent then and what you’re missing now is your own youth.

When I listened to this song the first time as a college freshman in 1971, I felt the "true power" of love story as sung and narrated by Andy Williams, a simply great singer; and when I listened to it again in 2023--I am a retired college professor at 71--I still feel the "true power" of love story, especially after my endeared wife passed away in 2021, as inspired by Andy Williams again but narrrated this time by myself. I miss her deeply. This love story of mine towards my late wife never ends. Tears. Thanks for sharing!

we've been cheated by management and money. When I was a kid the charts were full of all sorts of stuff; Andy Williams, Perry Como, The Carpenters, for easy listening, The Beatles, Stones, Deep Purple for rock, novelty stuff like My Ding-a-ling Chuck Berry, Ray Stevens The Streak, Tammy Wynnet, Jim Reeves, Charlie Rich, Crystal Gayle for country, pop stuff like The Bay City Rollers and Abba, then Rock and Roll, Punk, New Wave and you'd hear all of them on the radio or on TV chart programmes. Now we have a Country Chart, an Easy Listening chart, an Alternative Chart, R&B Chart etc. So they say "Ah this was number 1 for a month last year....." Yeah in the Alternative Street chart and unless you're into that particular type of music, you miss it. Radio is the same, they have so many stations hitting a certain demographic you miss some really great music because it's not classed in the genre that station plays. Those early days gave us the best musical education and to this day I listen to a huge range of music all because of those chart show on TV in the 70's.

❤❤❤❤❤❤ Where do I begin To tell the story of how great a love can be The sweet love story that is older than the sea The simple truth about the love she brings to me Where do I start With her first hello She gave new meaning to this empty world of mine There'd never be another love, another time She came into my life and made the living fine She fills my heart She fills my heart with very special things With angels' songs, with wild imaginings She fills my soul with so much love That anywhere I go I'm never lonely With her around, who could be lonely I reach for her hand, it's always there How long does it last Can love be measured by the hours in a day I have no answers now but this much I can say I know I'll need her 'til the stars all burn away And she'll be there How long does it last Can love be measured by the hours in a day I have no answers now but this much I can say I know I'll need her 'til the stars all burn away And she'll be there

The deeper meaning of the combination of: 1.The Lyrics True love, with the person who is your soul mate. Cherish that person, more than precious gold. 2.The Time Frame When Moral Standards still existed. 3. Mr. Andy Williams A true gentleman, with the voice that could penetrate your inner being. God bless you Mr Williams. One of the truly great pure voices...makes it look so effortless....an absolute master vocalist.....when they talk about the great crooners Andy got a mention......how under rated...he had to really fight hard for the Andy Williams show to even get off the ground. The executives must have been tone deaf.....who knows.....Thank you so much for those incredible songs and that wonderful style...that calms the spirit and soothes the soul....Very few command this ability...even fewer make it to the public arena. I feel truly blessed to have come across you in the late sixties and early seventies....it gave me so much pleasure and joy....and today, many years later it still warms my heart and lifts my spirits.....we are so fortunate that our technology has made these experiences timeless.. thank you so much for posting this.

Andy Williams

What a voice. Andy Williams is one of my all time favorite male singers. His effortless singing of a song is so mind boggling. His Christmas collections is priceless. I’ve hearing his music since I was a kid back in the 70’s. About 3 yrs ago I ordered a lot of his classics on CD and DVD. What a great investment I made; me and my wife can listen and enjoy. Oh yeah.

At times, I feel so enlightened and yet, somewhat melancholy when I see time capsules such as this video made possible by youtube because I see not only what we've gained, but also what we've lost as time goes by.
