After a back-and-forth struggle, Tennessee's Grant Williams hit a go-ahead shot in the final seconds to give the Volunteers the lead and Ole Miss was called for a charge on the potential game-winning shot at the buzzer. Head coach Kermit Davis ripped off his jacket in anger and Rebels fans threw garbage on the court in frustration.

@@neylandsmaxims To be fair, this basketball game wasn’t a prime time game and basketball isn’t a bigger sport than football. The UT-Miss game was what everyone who cares about football was watching late Saturday night, so of course it draws more attention. Everyone in the nation got to see some UT fans make a fool of themselves. It amazes me that UT fans are using this as an excuse, instead of saying “This was embarrassing and those fans do not represent all of us.”

Seems like a pretty similar situation to me. Yet majority of people didn't even hear about this happening. So how is this any different than what happened saturday night? The main difference was the fact that Lane Kiffen was the Ole Miss head coach.

@@chrismansfield2133 UT fans are complaining about the coverage. I never said the situation wasn’t similar. I explained why ESPN covered the last game more than the Ole Miss one. It’s no secret that a prime time SEC football game gets more attention than a regular season basketball game… Both fans are trash. One got covered more because of the publicity of it 🤷🏼‍♂️

I have never seen a more disgraceful showing from a fanbase. It was more of a charge than 99% of the charge calls in the modern game. Feet completely set, got hit square in the middle of the chest by a player out of control. Easy call.

It was a charge. However, there was also very clear offensive interference on the preceding Tennessee shot that made the score 72-71 when #23 touched the rim while the ball was still in the net. Yes, it didn't affect the shot but the rule is clear and that was offensive interference.

@@Crashout124 oh you mean the gonzaga team that barely beat a bunch of freshmen early in the season. duke had the kentucky syndrome this year: they got a bunch of top recruits and were given #1 before earning it. then the first experienced team that beats them gets the rank. gonzaga is just like tennessee; moving up in rank from playing a weak ass schedule while the real teams play each other. unlike gonzaga, tennessee was only able to hide for so long in the SEC.
