@Chad Gilliland True but for a number of those years Alabama never played the best competition because the wouldn't travel up North or out West to play the best teams because they had Black players. It was more a case of the fan base not wanting them to play integrated teams than that Coach Bryant not wanting it. It took the famous visit by USC & their legendary running back Sam 'Bam' Cunningham (Randall's older brother) who ran all over the famed Bama defense to convince Alabama that they needed African American players to compete in the new CFB landscape.

Yes he has made mistakes at TN, USC, and with the Raiders before but Coach O was at USC and TN with him and no one is talking smack about Coach O for any of that and making his mistakes at Ole Miss. It's not a loss or failure that defines us, but what we do after a loss or failure has everything to do with our character. Everyone gets defeated sooner or later. If we lay down and do nothing about it, it will consume us. If we keep on trying we may one day overcome it and even become great for it.

I am glad I am not a Ole Miss fan. He is a terrible head coach with a terrible record what are they excited about..I would not wount to play for him at all . Never did like him and still don't. He does better and has a better record as a assistant coach then a head coach that should tell you everything you need to know right there .He dont have it as a head coach and never will . His record proves it ....Ole miss athletic director or whoever hired this man as head coach' should be fired on the spot .

Don't get too excited, Rebel fans. Lane is just passing through. And don't expect much more to happen than maybe what Freeze gave you. And to everybody else, you have to remember that UM is just one of EIGHT universities in the poorest state in the union. And a state that is the 35th smallest in population. The resources just aren't there. So......even if Saban himself became the head coach, Ole Miss will never be on the same level as LSU, Georgia, Florida, or Alabama. Just saying.

Don’t worry Ole Miss... he’ll move on in a year or two ( maybe half way through his second). He definitely will not stick, never has. Like he said, USC was his dream job, and he blew that too. Alabama didn’t miss a stroke without him ( unfortunate Tua was hurt). He isn’t the answer, just a worry. He may be a decent coach, but that doesn’t make up for his lack of loyalty, and lack of integrity. He definitely blows smoke.
