When Bobby starts to honk along 4:38 with Michael, it looks like another funny joke. But then, when he goes climbing, what he does there with his voice , kind of imitating a "free jazz sax run", that glissandos are out of this world. 24 thumbs down... this is a shitty world

I may have just found my favorite breaker solo ever. It’s taken me going from 16( who’s that) to 22(I like some but idk) to 23( ok I k ew I was drawn to this for a reason) to 23.5yrs old (some skunk funk) to all the way 32(someday my prince will come) and more and more and lots of gigs like 100’s to thousands… b4 hearing this and staring at my changing led lights, 2-3 shots in while cooking potatoes alone in my kitchen, to be like…. Yeah that was pretty good. 👍😂😁🎶

@MarkTarmannPianoCheck_it_out Жыл бұрын
Yeah. Chick toured for years with Bobby, and Wynton and Herbie invited Bobby up for some silliness? You know better than this 3? Can't deal with it fine, but don't make moronic statements about a guy who can use his instrument and his ears on same Olympus level as these others. Just cuz he stretches, has fun ( and is actually just goofing on avant garde pretenders. DUH? BOBBY?) and had a bubblegum hit song you want to diss him. You the silly mufuh., Bobby. Listen to what he does and get a small clue. What did you ever play? and when did Hancock Wynton or COrea ever invite you up to play?

Can't tell if McFerrin is mocking Brecker's style or just trying to engage him by doing an impression and nailing it.
@tombenson71135 жыл бұрын
I reckon he was trying to get him to start playing haha
@sbaiar4 жыл бұрын
Mocking?? No way! Just trying to engage him. McFerrin is a listener and an expert at playing to an audience. He blurs boundaries. Brecker just isn't sure what's going on. He's just trying to go with the flow, and it's hard to tell where the the flow's going. Lol

Intonation has always been Bobby McFerrin forte'! A vocal master who in my opinion has no equal when comes to atonality, straight ahead, and avant-garde. The wrong notes are right.

Oi mate. you can fuck off with that comparison, even made jokingly. He's never approached that Ono level of stupid and fake and horrible to hear.. He's having fun, goofing on avant garde fakes like Ono. and he's kinda burning too. -the rhythms in that seal bark were awesome.

Through the lens of time and after the hype has faded, it is plainly clear who the great artist are and who are the phonies and fakes.Such a relief when the singing stops and the real artists can play.
@MarkTarmannPianoCheck_it_out Жыл бұрын
Chick Corea toured for years, duo, with a phony? I heard them at the Alte Oper, Frankfurt, 2017 or so. Lately, Through the lens of very recent times,, Chck and Bobby, no drums bass, making intensely immensely high quality art and music.. Bobby, just for his ears alone he is as qualified and " a real artist" as any of the rest on that stage. He can spit back any riff, and himself riff on any original riff/offering from Herbie or Chick, with the most difficult instrument on which to improvise.the voice.
