Sublime performance of (Brenda Russell's) 'Get Here' by Oleta Adams with Courtney Pine on soprano sax from 1991 BBC Later programme. Incredibly, this was the first time that they had ever performed together!

This is the first time I've commented on a video, but this piece is exceptional and I simply cannot restrain myself. The song is great and what Ms. Adams does with it is extraordinary to say the least. Often when I listen to it, I can visualize myself sharing that carpet ride she sings of. We all get something from the music we listen to, and when I hear this song in particular, and others by Ms. Adams as well, I just sit back with a smile on my face and a dream in my heart. Great song, great music, great performance. Here I go, speechless again.

My wife was a singer piano player When I would go to see her, she would play this song for me. Sadly, she passed away, and I don't have a recording of her doing it, but the memories are flooding back. How I felt when she sang it to me I was the most special person in the world during those moments! And I will always love her ❤️

Again and again I come to play this song if the CD isn't sitting and ready to play here at home. This is one of the most perfect songs I've ever heard! This is EVERYTHING you could want a song to be. Talk about an artist feeling every note of a song....just watch her face. She is flawless!

Sweet Jesus! What a voice, a woman and a performance! I simply adore this song. It seems, though, that Courtney was almost an after thought. He should have come in earlier and supported her voice. Hmm. A good performance anyway. You can see all the musicians enjoying being there and contributing. That's nice.

I'm on my husband's account...lol. I heard this song many years ago and found it again here on You Tube. I loved the music video, but that is nothing compared to her powerful voice. I feel better off for having listened to her sing. It's like a little secret that I keep from those who probably haven't.

4:15 on the dime, does anyone else here a double octave on that note? Such a rich, clear voice. Reminds me of Heather Hedley (sp?) but the original!! She would've made an amazing Aida on Broadway!
