So glad the crowd showed her so much love - she deserved every bit of it. I’m from Scotland and was born in the late 70s. I’d never had an interest in gymnastics and where I live in the highlands there wasn’t any facility or teachers, so it’s not something I was aware of. I can certainly see why so many young girls took up gymnastics after seeing Olga and Nadia in the 70s - they were incredible and it makes my jaw drop seeing such incredible strength mixed with beauty in their moves. I’ve never seen anything like it.

She became a legend doing amazing moves no one had done before. And now we have Simone Biles who makes Olga's moves look almost simple. Will humans successfully continue to push away the boundaries of what is possible?
