It makes me wonder how that differs from how those $9 "generic" (look alike) zooming-lights are made (obviously in a different factory somewhere else in China).

Ya, aside from the AC thing it looked like a pretty nice place.
@suburbanhobbyist27524 жыл бұрын
The 80s in the US were much different than today. Since then we have imposed enough regulations to double or even triple the cost of manufacturing which is why there isn't any here any more. But, at least the few remaining factory workers are comfortable and safe with pensions and healthcare. China is slowly transforming and costs will soon be going up there as well. This factory is only 10 years old so it was built under newer regulations. However, I was surprised to see how hot it was with no AC. That would never fly in the US.

I've got an idea for a product, a flashlight, where do I start?
@MrBikboi4 жыл бұрын
Olight is honestly the Apple of flashlights and I don't mind, went for the M2R Warrior instead of Pro based on the proprietary batteries and I couldn't be happier for a weapon light. They don't necessary run at the front of the pack for innovation however they make a quality product, build quality is top tier, feels great in the hand, reliable and not as important but extremely aesthetically pleasing to me. I'd only buy one on a sale though, they have them so often that there's no reason not to wait for one IMO, one of the best values I can think of on sale. This video is fantastically done, I love seeing into factories of products I enjoy especially when so many people are employed to produce products by hand.

I've recently bought the seeker 2 and the S1r baton 2 and I can see why Olight are the best for torches and flashlights. Olight are pure quality and I must say S1r baton 2 is Simply a classic! You can tell the work that goes into these flashlights and they feel brilliant in the hand. I bought the seeker 2 because I wanted a flashlight that was incredibly bright and that was small. I hope the S1r baton 2 becomes the Classic that it deserves because I totally love this tiny flashlight! Olight is not only the best they are world leaders in flashlights and torches company in the world!

Seeing that Olight is the Apple of the flashlight world, I knew this Factory and tour would be a huge operation!! what shocked the heck out of me was how much humans actually have to do to assemble and finish, put together all the products qc everything... I knew they would be tons and tons of CNC machines but there are so many little processes put together to make one light...

I think that this product is better than surefire lights in my opinion . I'm not try to judge but for half the price how can you go wrong ? And the quality is top shelve. It's time for me to buy another light ...
@JenniferinIllinois7 жыл бұрын
I have never owned a Surefire light but for the prices that Olights are, why would I? I'm not throwing my lights from 10 story buildings or running over them with semi trucks. :) I just need a good light that doesn't let me know and so far, all of my Olights do just that.
@TheScotchaholic6 жыл бұрын
Surefire is like TOO MANY American companies that take advantage of people's patriotism and reward them with high prices and substandard goods, while others can offer more for less. I bought an expensive rechargeable 9AN Commander years ago. Did they ever improve and update from their archaic and proprietary NI-CAD batteries that couldn't hold a charge long? Did they ever improve and offer better efficient and brighter bulbs for that model? Nope. They just wanted you to buy their under performing batteries and bulbs - while the flashlight industry would soon see the rise of unexpectedly great products from China. Since that time, the Commander is an expensive paperweight, while being my first and LAST Surefire. They're still up to their games with consumers: www.amazon.com/SureFire-Lawman-Rechargeable-Variable-Output/product-reviews/B00MKIGGTO/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewpnt_rgt?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews&sortBy=recent&filterByStar=critical&pageNumber=1#R2RVLXZ9QBDQHG Premium price DEMANDS premium performance and customer service! American/European car manufacturers did the same nonsense to many American drivers - which is why so many drive Asian imports. They wanted patriotism and patronage while shafting people in the ass?! This is the same mentality that have created MANY owners of Glock pistols over American brands.

Are you and I the only ones to notice the lack of safety equipment for the workers? It's either optional or not even supplied. But that's the first thing I noticed when he was showing the CNC machines in the beginning. No one was wearing gloves or safety glasses around machines that create metal shards while being sprayed with lubricant. And then they opened the doors and blew off the parts and machine with compressed air! Well at least the guy doing the laser etching was wearing safety glasses and a 10 cent filter mask! I'm sorry, but that's terrible! I hope the workers get a decent wage for their quality work.
