If you find yourself in heavy snow, fog, or rain, the proximity sensor may not allow you to go brighter than the 2(400lm) setting. You can disable the proximity sensor. While light is ON, press the button fifteen times in a row, until the light turns OFF. Do this procedure again, to turn the sensor back on. WHEN SENSOR IS DISABLED, IT MAY BE POSSIBLE TO START A FIRE WITH THIS LIGHT. BE CAREFUL! Credit for this M2 tip, goes to uToober, Flash Lights UK.

Interesting, thanks for the tip! Just tried it and it worked. Like you said, be careful, the light does get extremely hot.

About the proximity sensor, there is another review on KZbin that posted the instructions for disabling the proximity sensor as per Olight support instructions. Just search for short Maurader 2 reviews.

The larger the human iris is allowed to dilate, while dark, the image to the retina is sharper, and more defined. So when you have a thrower with ANY flood/spill, your iris will constrict from it, and in turn, reduce the perceived image quality. Much like using a 50mm scope, over a 40mm scope, or using HD glass.

I totally agree with your opinion that there should be at least a modicum of flood along with the spot. I would love to get a Marauder for my collection, but I think I will hold off for a while to see if they add the flood feature. In the meantime, I will use my Warrior Turbo for spot and my Seeker 2 Pro for flood. Great video!

I bought an olight marauder 2 flashlight, but unfortunately it broke, and I was 50 cm underwater. Turn on the light for about 15 minutes. This gear is in the third gear. Turning on the flashlight the next day, the flashlight kept flashing, the light could not be adjusted normally, and the switch did not respond. Has your olight marauder 2 been tested and it works about 50 cm underwater??? Thank you

I have not tested it underwater. I'd reach out to their customer service via email or the chat on their website.

@@616Reviews well once the pack after a certain number of charges , the batteries will die. say 3 years 500 recharges. then what? throw the whole light out. 🤣😂
@616Reviews3 жыл бұрын
It's unrealistic that the light would just stop working, you'd probably just have deal with reduced capacity. There's also a 5 year warranty on the light, feel free to use that whenever you please. Past that, I don't think it'd be terribly hard to open the light and replace the cells yourself, it's just three 21700's. So no, I don't think I'll need to throw the entire light away in three years. Feel free to remind me in 2024 for an update.

Hi! Do you know if the Marauder 2 is possible to use while you support it with power via the USB port? I thinking of using it for example as a work light with a USB power delivery charger. It would be very convenient. Thanks in advance!
@616Reviews3 жыл бұрын
I just tested and it appears it can be charged wile in use (The charging LED is on). I'm not sure if the light is using only the USB power, only the batteries, or a combination. I'll see if I can setup a runtime test to see if there's an actual difference and let you know!
@mattiascarlsson82313 жыл бұрын
@@616ReviewsOh, that sounds really good. The test you're describing sounds like a good way of verifying it even more! If you have a wattmeter for AC or for USB, also that could be a way to see if it's using the external power. Thanks for your effort, and good review!
@616Reviews3 жыл бұрын
No wattmeter so had to go with my more low tech solution lol. Left it turned on level 3 and plugged in for about 16 hours while I was at work. Level 3 runtime is 13 hours per Olight. Got home, light still on and is fully charged. I'd be careful about doing this on higher settings as the light does get hot and I don't know if being plugged in would keep it from ramping down or not. Also, not sure if the charging would even keep up on the higher settings that suck so much power, but I'd say at least level 4 and lower you're probably7 good which is still 1600 lumens. Hope this helped!
@mattiascarlsson82313 жыл бұрын
@@616Reviews Hi! That sounds really good! I'm really glad that you wanted to do this test! Yeah, the heat would probably be an issue, but 1600 lumen is what my regular battery led work light is rated for and that's enough for much. Now I want this light even more! :) Thanks again, and keep up with the good reviews!

It's useless as a defensive weapon. You're never going to hold it like a tail switch. Power on requires extra step. They should just get rid of crowning on non-tactical lights. But in my opinion it's a decorative feature.

@@TackleAdvisors Glad that helped! It's actually not in the instructions, but I saw it on a flashlight forum. Becareful of the heat though, it gets super hot at 14k lumens if left unattended. It's easy enough to turn on or off, so most of the time I leave the sensor on until I need it. Enjoy!!
@616Reviews3 жыл бұрын
I mean I wouldn't say useless, if needed it definitely could be, just not the ideal first choice lol. It is for sure more decorative and can be useful to help you notice if you left the light on with the bezel down.
