@@CowichanMTB I don't like lights on the handlebar so I got the helmet mount. It is really bright and a big upgrade from my 1300 lumen Bontrager.

Hi , could you show nighttime test just with actual 3500 only? Minus any extra lights on, to be able to judge the 3500 brightness truly.

I'm a bit confused. Olight or Magicshine?

It’s co-branded. Olight isn’t available anymore but magicshine is

I just got this light and have a couple of issues. Do you have these issues too? When I press the 'Check' button on the battery, it always displays 3 lights, regardless of the battery level. Initially out of the box, the 'Check' button showed 3 lights. But when I plugged it in to charge, it started out with just one light blinking, which according to the manual means that it had less than a 30% charge. So I'm not sure what the purpose or function of the 'Check' button is. My other issue is with the 'mode memory function'. The light only remembers my last setting if I immediately turn the light back on after I've turned it off. Otherwise, if I turn the light off, wait 5 seconds, and turn it back on, it will lose my last setting and come back on at its lowest setting.

I went for a ride last night and it did turn on immediately to the brightest setting which was a the last setting I used. The check button seems to work on mine as it shows two lights now after about and hour of use on its brightest setting

What helmet light are you running? Would you recommend this light or shell out extra for a magic shine or Gemini?
@CowichanMTB2 жыл бұрын
This light actually says magic shine right on it. I am very happy with and would recommend it. As far as the helmet light I have been using the oxbow gear maverick. I sometimes use the oxbow voyager. I like the maverick because of the built in battery. If you choose to go that route I have a discount code : cowichanmtb for I think 10%

For bar light use I'd spend the extra for any of the higher output Magicshine Monteer series lights. The optic description on all the Monteer lights (3500/5000/6500/8000) is the same but because the 3500 uses SST20 emitters (5000/SST40, 6500 and 8000 XHP50.2) it ends up with the lowest lumen output but the highest throw distances and a much narrower beam than the others. Monteer 3500/RN3500 best used as a helmet light IMO.

@@CowichanMTB Thanks I wonder if this would be suitable to chest mount on a gopro system?
