Oligometastatic breast cancer

Many people, and even doctors, are not familiar with the term oligometastatic breast cancer. Oligometastatic breast cancer is characterized by single or few detectable metastatic lesions at the time of diagnosis. People with oligomets may have improved outcomes and may even experience treatment as curative. In this interview, Debu Tripathy, MD, explains this relatively rare presentation of MBC, explores treatment approaches, and shares a look into the research.

It would make such a big difference to patients of doctors adopted this terminology too. In the UK, if you are metastatic they stop referring to your treatment as curative and as a palliative instead, which is quite shocking and depressing for a patient. Instead they should establish if you are OMBC, and if so, let you know that the path can go either way. It gives more hope and that's really important for patients.

My mom had brest cancer too, I never believed it could permanently be cured till we met a Herbalist who made it happen and now mom is living a healthy life couldn't have been more happier

@@denisemckenzie6226 yes! Breast cancer can be healed without the killer drugs that pharma pushes on everyone. Doctors who go along with that should be in prison

My father has been recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer metastasized to the bones. After taking chemo as first line of treatment he was on hormonal therapy which did not suit him and the disease progressed, the dr has advised him for 6 cycles of chemo as 2nd line treatment. I would like to know what have you done and what should be done in my dad's case. Please send suggestions and help.

Am at the Marsden with an amazing SBRT doctor. Had SBRT but also had recurrence... Not had primary removed yet so obviously that's an issue.
