Scarlett says "I love Olive Garden." Olive Garden: Yes! Free advertising! Rest of skit:
@miguelyilales71344 жыл бұрын

@jjmanzano94 жыл бұрын
Miguel Yilales no, this is parody, not product placement.
@cetomedo4 жыл бұрын
@@nambypamby2147 Actually, I'd say this is ingenious. Instead of parodying someone, and angering them from your jokes which almost always mock them, they come to you and pay you to make fun of them. This gives SNL's writers a guide as well because they might not have come up with a restaurant sketch without a restaurant asking for it, and a guideline really helps with creativity. Even better, they don't have to force you to watch an ad, because the ad is the thing you came to watch and laugh at. (I've later realized I wrote pretty much the same thing twice, with slightly different detail, so if you understand what I mean already just skip the second paragraph)(and probably the third, as it's just a conclusion) It's four birds with one stone, you get an idea for a sketch, you don't anger companies you want to parody(which may cause them to look for a way to pursue legal battle from thinking you tried to make them less popular, or even just for money, even if it is unlikely), you get paid for it, and you don't have to place unrelated advertisements, or pause the video to sponsor it, causing people to get annoyed, because the viewers come to watch the advertisement, and if they don't like it, they don't lose anything other than the time it took for them to decide to not watch it, which would've been the same if the video wasn't an advertisement anyway. It's a rare situation where the stars align and a single solution can make everyone involved happy with no downsides for anyone. (EDIT: Grammar corrections, lots of 'em. Must not have cared at the time of writing)
@nambypamby21474 жыл бұрын
@@cetomedo I get what you mean, for sure. I just find it annoying because we're at a day and age when people don't know what product placement is. I called it shameless because they shamelessly put their name all over it. SNL must really need the money.

This might be the best sketch performance from Leslie so far! She didn't break or flub any lines, and her faces were on point!

You forgot to mention the other black girl was hired for her skin color! That is right, legendary SNL hired a girl just because she is black. She as you said, isn't funny or a good actor. Its unbelievable she is still on the show. Affirmative action, unbelievable.
@karenthomas48497 жыл бұрын
Eddie Vedder affirmative action only helps white women. and there are way more of them on this shows history.and entertainment in general. and many of them are NOT funny. and blacks still get overlooked no matter how talented.

She's a bit early on the reaction to him doing the southern accent as if she knows what line is coming next so I wouldn't say perfect but much better than her normally shit self.
