This is actually a really good metaphor for anxiety. The puppet/rag doll is a kid with some sort of anxiety disorder, I assume OCD or a Phobic disorder, the Amygdala is, well... the Amygdala (the part of the brain that controls the fight or flight system), and the Trypo puppeteer is either a metaphor for intrusive thoughts or self harm. This is about a kid with crippling anxiety and has trypophobia but because so many people say they have trypophobia without actually having any sort of phobia, leading to people thinking that trypophobia isn't really or not a big deal, he's not taken seriously and doesn't get the help he needs. He's plagued by intrusive thoughts which he blames himself for, that's why he calls himself the trypo puppeteer at the end, he blames himself for his pain. Or, if you go with the self harm metaphor, he cuts and burns himself to distract himself from the pain. This would make sense since the rag doll is "cauterized", not burnt, implying that the inflicted burns were intentional and used to "heal". He can't handle the world, he has panic attacks that lead him to do stupid things and then he feels embarrassed or ashamed, he doesn't have control, the line "my frontal lobe placed me behind my own strings" could refer to him numbing his emotions so he doesn't have another outburst/panic attack again, or it could also refer to losing trust for himself. "I defy the way the game works" he doesn't feel like he should be feeling the way he does because he can't make sense of his messed up mental state. He begs Amygdala and the Trypo puppeteer to leave him alone. Self harm has become an addiction, or if you go with the intrusive thought thing, the thoughts have taken a mind of their own and he no longer feels in control of his mind/actions. Now that I think about it, "Trypo puppeteer" could also refer to someone abusive in his life which would probably make more sense. I feel like I'm pulling most of this out of my ass, idk. Maybe I'm just projecting myself onto the story because I have personal experience with anxiety. This is just how I view the song.

Oliver is such an underrated vocaloid despite his awful past, dark songs, and speaking english edit: Oh my goodness, the amount of replies that I left unanswered for about 2 years! I had no idea what was on my mind on who I was 2 years ago, but i believe I muted the comment section. The only time I knew this comment was because I listened to this song once again. If I recall, when I commented this for the first time, I really had no knowledge about Oliver. The only way that I knew him was through Bee and Puppycat. When I figured out a vocaloid voiced Puppycat, I went on and search the internet and found out that the majority of his songs are dark and somehow twisted. I immediately assumed he had a dark past, which resulted to me commenting this. I hope I cleared some misunderstandings, everyone! Perhaps. Hear me out, plz; “Amygdala’s Rag Doll” is the story of a young boy accidentally starting a horrible house fire, where all his family perished and he personally suffered intense injuries. Even after being rescued and restored of his charred skin, he was trapped in terrible physical and mental problems, such as his skin burning so bad that he viewed the burned areas as stitched rags, whilst his injuries were restored a little while later, he only saw the holes caused by the many cauterisations he had whilst the doctors were fixing his non-burn injuries. The boy continued to believe he was a rag doll, due to how his burned areas were stitched together and had tons of “holes”. Not just that, due to all the smoke inhalation, his lungs were in horrible shape and he felt he couldn’t breathe anymore because it was such a struggle to do so, in which only fed into the delusion he wasn’t human. After the traumatic experience, the combination of his guilt complex and his PTSD, he labelled himself as the world-hating “trypo-puppeteer” for causing the fire that ‘killed’ him and killed his family. As the boy further fell into the delusion he told himself, he begun losing memories of his beloved family and his PSTD engulfed the entirety of his psychological state… like a larvae, till nothing remained but a self-hating, physically and mentally scorched young boy, who views himself as a lifeless Ragdoll

So here’s my theory: Oliver is a doll that is used as an outlet for it’s owner’s anger. (Burning him, sticking nails through his hands, etc.) One day, the doll gains sentience and doesn’t understand why his owner keeps hurting him. The doll believes it is something that he did. That's actually how it's supposed to be spelled. On Yamaha's official website it's spelled like that, and most of the products on there also have the full capitalization. Not to mention on certain sites it will be underlined in red if you don't spell it with all caps. I think that the “ragdoll” is a metaphor that oliver has made for himself. Oliver is a regular boy who, unlike his peers, cannot control his emotions very well, and is very sensitive to insults or criticism. His parents find him weak and useless, as he does not behave like the other boys his age. He his parents attempt to fix him by being more rude and disrespectful, hoping that it will get him to toughen up. Oliver feels like he is being manipulated, and gets very stressed. This stress causes “holes,” or missing spots from his memory. He thinks of his parents as the “trypo-puppeteer,” because they control what he does and cause holes in his memory. One day, Oliver has enough, and begins emotionally manipulating his parents into feeling guilty for what they have done. He realizes how much power he has now, and begins to make his parents feel bad for everything they do. His parents figure out what he is doing, and start punishing him harder. They now have a genuine hate for oliver. His attempt to manipulate others around him causes the “holes” to grow larger and more frequent. He is now trapped in a cycle of fear and suffering. Even though this song is 6 years old, I'm determined to solve it. I am going to post a theory every day. So, what I thought of is that the ragdoll is actually a good person at heart but after the fire he got the holes in his memory kind of like a film strip will burn and stop working, then after losing some of his memories he became the trypo-puppeter. Then this is not the end because on another comment Ghost responded saying their is a hidden url, I'm convinced that the url is the hidden symbols at these timestamps if you slow it down. 0:15 0:47 1:29 1:49 2:30 2:53 2:59 3:09 3:21 3:30 4:15 4:20 4:34 Though I am also convinced that if someone can read and decipher it to put them together it will form the url, then back to the comment that Ghost mentioned had a Url in here, they also said there were 2 more left. I believe that this Url needing to be solved is actually the 2nd puzzle, then whatever site the url leads to contains the 3rd puzzle. If we could get to and solve that puzzle then this 6 year old mystery will finally be solved... But hey, that's just a theory.

So, another theory I had has to do with the certain word choice near the end of the end song... One of the lines says this "1, 2, 3, and we'll tie the tourniquet" This interested me because the definition for tourniquet is - "A device for stopping the flow of blood through a vein or artery, typically by compressing a limb with a cord or tight bandage." This lead me to believe that the ragdoll could be a normal person who was in a fire and went to the hospital, then getting all of the stitches, this theory could also explain the holes in his memory.

Oh my gosh, when you have skin picking disorder/dermatillomania, this song hits SO different… My therapist praised me for saying I “chose” to pick my own skin when I was anxious and I pointed out how it can be totally unconscious and I in a trance lose track of time while doing it. “Well, you still choose to continue doing it when you realize it’s happening.” He retorted. I knew I wasn’t going to convince him and just didn’t say more. That is the hell of skin picking and other body focused repetitive behaviors, it literally walks the line between complex intentional behavior from the frontal lobe, and the unconscious reactions of the amygdala. As a result, it is often unfairly compared to addiction, which is also a disease people say is a result of poor willpower. This is far from the case. Like I said, I literally have lost track of multiple hours picking holes in myself. It’s hard to explain to someone who doesn’t have it. Basically it takes a LOT of mental energy to break the repetition, because it’s a behavior relieving extreme anxiety. Even though logically nothing is stopping you from pulling your hand away, you can’t do it. You’re numbed out, hence losing track of time and not feeling much pain. Then people try to shame you out of your “bad habit” and remind you how disgusting and dangerous the behavior is, which you already are well aware of. The shame that results from that only makes the picking continue as you get more anxiety buildup from the fear of others reactions. So on some level, you take precautions to hide your picking, but you can’t just stop as easily as others might think. Usually what it takes to stop me in this “trance” is something external that triggers my amygdala (ironically), like a loud noise, someone startling me by touching my shoulder, nearly losing my balance and falling, etc. It is literally like being your amygdala’s rag doll.

I relate to this so much. I'm not diagnosed with anything and I have never speak with a professional before about this but sometimes my skin picking becomes a real problem. I unconsciously always picking the skin around my nails and on my fingertips. Just this day I managed to pull off like 5 layers of skin from one of my fingertips. They always start to bleed and hurt. One time I couldn't even hold a pencil because of the damage, it just hurt so much. I have tried everything to stop this, but I just can't. It's so unconscious to me now, I don't even notice doing it. I tried to tape them, cut my nails extra short, putting on rings to focus on those instead but nothing. Because even if I stop with my fingers I continue with my lips and pick those instead. So, if anybody has any tips on how to stop, please share. Like I don't even know why am I doing it.

I saw people making theories and wanted to see if i could help out in some way, at 1:07 it says the "cauterized" a cauterize is a burn to stop bleeding or INFECTION, we know the song has something to Do with a fire, mabey its not a physical actual infection but instead a mental "infection" that the fire had stopped or slowed down, just spitting random ideas because I thought it would be fun though! Listened more, at 3:19 he brings up a tourniquet which is used to prevent blood flow or bleeding from an injury, which as i mentioned earlier, cauterization does too, im not sure if this is significant or not

I vividly remember being in 7th grade listening to this in my teacher’s classroom- I was the TA and so I kinda hid out in there a lot, especially at lunch.
