Oliver Brown specialises in top hats and holds the largest collection of antique silk hats in the world. Silk top hats are considered the height of sartorial elegance because of their impressive shine, shape, and lightweight construction. Production of the distinctive ‘silk hatter’s plush’ ceased in the mid-twentieth century, making these hats increasingly rare.
