The lyrics straight from the source... courtesy of Oliver and Ezra If this really is goodbye Let the tears fall from my eyes My garden now can only go to seed Oh, the river has run dry If this really is goodbye (you say hello, goodbye my friend, you know it’s all the same when ya) Let the tears fall from my eyes (hello, and god I star folding back in again) My garden now can only go to seed ( and now you cry, as the planets change directions) Oh the river has run dry ( we are two dots on a plane, the line is time, is false perception) Oh, nothing now can ever be the same ( Emetic lights in the night sky quivering) Oh, how can anything now be the same? ( oh, woe upon the nations of our brains) Oh, how can anything now be the same? ( You know, you know that it’s a sad town, baby) Oh, nothing now can ever be the same ( I miss you so, I’m not prepared to be lonely) (Don’t wanna believe, just can’t believe you’re coming back like this Same old harmful practices, sliding backwards, you’re not talking sense. Talking with my friends, I ask them what they think the Rapture is? Heard the words “mental health “, “hellfire”, seriously? Don’t wanna believe, don’t wanna believe you’re coming back like this) And I’m so scared to live this way (Talking with my dead friends, I ask them what they think the Rapture is?) It doesn’t matter what they say, their world has gone away Oh, nothing now can ever be the same ( Emetic lights in the night sky wiggling) Oh, how can anything now be the same ?( oh, woe upon the nations of our brains) Oh, how can anything now be the same ? ( You know, you know that it’s a sad town, baby) Oh, nothing now can ever be the same ( I miss you so, I’m not prepared to be lonely)

"Upon the nations" of our brains? …Sure it's not "abominations"? 🤔
@madinahagberg49425 жыл бұрын
Yvonne Black nope, EZRA said that it is “ woe upon the nations “ I am pretty sure that he knows what his lyrics are

Madina Hagberg Duly noted that you've interacted with Ezra. I'm sure he does know his own lyrics; I simply wondered whether 1 word might've been misheard during the communication of them, because to me it sounded like "abomination". Thank you, though, for the clarification & bonus sarcasm.

Yvonne Black sorry if you read that as sarcasm, I was typing while talking to someone IRL. I received the lyrics in typed letter style format when I asked Oliver and his wife to clarify them for me. These are the lyrics I received, and I do agree that his wording can be difficult to interpret even while staring at printouts

Wow. I have no words for how this piece of art makes my chest melt together with what it is experiencing. It's beauty in verbalising desperation, sadness and imprisonment together with fragility. the movement of the dance, elegantly and tormented, couldnt express more accurately how this song feels on the inside, the slow rythm of the armchair, rocking back and forth, beautifully singing in pain, and therefore experiencing relief, in being with the sadness. What an absolute masterpiece that was created here
