So glad Oliver is better. My beagle had the same HGE last April and it was very scary. 3 days in hospital stay. Almost same meds given. Very thankful to all Vets and Vet Techs that help her.

Thanks for taking such good care of Oliver. Glad you feel better Oliver. I had to watch my Vinnie the Beagle the same way...took everything out of his mouth. When he was elderly, he swallowed a piece of metal. He vomited and I got him to the Vets. His vet was able to operate and pull it from his stomach without cutting him. However, he aspirated pneumonia from vomiting. He was kept on IV and put in an oxygen chambered kennel for days. He came home on antibiotics. We were thrilled. He was playful again. Unfortunately the pneumonia came back and he relapsed. He was quite elderly and his immune system just was not up to it and we humanely said our last goodbye. You are wonderful to watch Oliver so closely. Wag that tail, sweet Oliver! You are a lucky beagle to have such good love and care! BTW Vinnie looked so very much like Oliver. Love you, Oliver!

I understand what you are saying My beagle mix Is sick and she seems to be making a tiny bit of progress from pancreatitis, but she also has cancer and these things keep me up at night. My past beagle had epilepsy. He had a grand mal seizure and never recovered. My dad, grandmother and dog all died when I was 17. Hard times. I still miss and love them all well into adulthood. I see Oliver and think of my dog. Yes, my poor dog had his 'Elizabethan Collar' time too. He kept bumping into things until we could take the collar off. Oh my goodness. Oliver I'm so sorry you were sick. Happy to see your doing ok now. My. Bell Bell had something similar to what Oliver had. It ended up turning into a pancreatic problem. Bloody stools...😖 scariest thing ever. A ton of vet bills later we put her on a special diet. Hills Science Diet ID formula. Prescription purchase only but this did work. Vet bills for this problem went away. Had to teach her the "Leave it" command so she would not just eat everything she smelled and came across. Happy dancing now that Oliver is home and doing good. ❤❤❤

Thank you for sharing what happened to sweet Oliver. It is informative to us dog owners as to what to watch for if this happens to our pets. He is in the best hands with having the owners he has to watch and take such great care of him. So sorry you went through that. I am glad he is feeling better. It was so funny to me when you said to Oliver “you don’t mind the medications do you” and then Oliver proceeded to grab and rip up the vet diagnosis which to me was an answer to what he thinks of his medications. I'm so glad Oliver is better! HGE can be serious! My Beagle, Lucy was sick last week too. She snuck into the cat's room and ate 10% of her body weight in cat food. Her stomach was all bloated and she was miserable. She's much better now!

Oh my goodness when I saw the health update it scared me good we sure don't want Oliver 🐕 sick. I will look that up to see what that is I never heard about it thanks Oliver daddies for the advice..it's been a very rough time for me I broke my right hand from a fall in the snow and ice three weeks ago and then got a bad cold and developed pneumonia and got in the hospital for a couple days and I signed myself out of the hospital to come back and take care of Arnold 🐶 my brother was coming back and forth giving him his meds but I know that he couldn't take my place he said Arnold was whining over me but anyway I'm doing better now and glad to be home I hope and pray 🙏 Oliver never has a health scare again take care my good friends 🙏 me and Arnold love you guys so much

You have a great attitude. I hope you & Arnold are healing nicely. I recently learned about the importance of Vitamin D to our immune system. Sunshine & supplements ... 2k - 5k units daily, said the doc's nurse.
