Just so everyone knows it’s not about bashing Tyra. She’s absolutely a successful black model but it’s about exposing a manipulative masterminds true colors! Tyra acts like shes so sweet & always the victim, and when she’s caught up she just apologizes and gets away with it with no repercussions if Tyra was white she would’ve been canceled point blank period.
@zairnermuller49604 жыл бұрын
She has got some repercussions. Most of her new projects have been a total failure. No one wants to be associated with her, and the little to none respect she used to have in the fashion industry is gone now. Many people used to laugh about Tyra yelling at Tiffany but for me that was the point where I knew she was a total POS. She made her millions so I think she can retire and raise her little boy.

I started getting a little turned off by the show in season eight when Tyra came marching in Boot Camp style and all this craziness. It started getting a little gimmicky but I forced myself to watch it and continued watching all the way through the very last cycles. As as the years went on, the more gimmicky and cheezy the show became. Oh, and if the Top Model did a reunion show and you guys got to tell all this Tea, I don’t believe the show would’ve made it to Cycle 12. 😝

Cycle 12's Natalie was an obvious conniving and rude person, she got away with saying slick things to the judges often...remember how she acted with the makeover episode. Rejecting it, arguing (enough) with Jay and they all just said "We see you and we said MODEL!!" she got praised all the time. Like didn't she win a runway challenge that she did incorrectly and screwed up?! And the reason for her elimination was because she was too experienced or onto something bigger? They gassed her way too much with the little actual pizzazz she possessed.

I will always love, admire and respect Tyra. Her legacy, the doors she broke down and the trails she blazed as a black women becoming a supermodel in a year in Paris. The first Woman on GQ and the first black woman for most of the things she's done. The void Tyra left after leaving the industry has yet to be filled. But, Baby, this is not looking good on Miss Banks. I'm saddened because Tyra had a lot of power in the industry and did nothing to further support these girls after the show.

I've always had this suspicion that Tyra never exercised her influence and authority correctly or fairly and all these girls coming out with this dirt just proved my theory.

@@CorCor89 I'm saddened! This was her chance to do the things especially for the models of color that was not done for her. To truly enrich these young women as well as protecting them. I do believe that Tyra is a good person, but she wasn't good to the people who she felt were beneath her. Be good to people on your way up, they'll have your secrets and some stories to tell.

she should have stuck to being a model and finding something else to do other than holding competitions and talk shows to exploit people. She would have a better reputation now if she hadn't. She just didn't know how to handle the responsibility of instigating this reality TV and didn't follow up on it

Aminat said she doesn't think Tyra cares enough to have Oliver's videos pulled, but if the show was currently airing new cycles (although what's said about Tyra here isn't all bad), it might be viewed as "problematic" because you're pulling the veil off the construct they've built around the show. You get the contestants hip to what to watch out for before going on the show; they become aware of said producer(s) who try to pull emotional reactions, catty behavior (etc) out of them, you change the dynamic of the machine. No juicy, exploitable storylines means [in the realm of Reality TV] "BORING." Boring means no show, no show means no coins...and when you start messing with THE MONEY, it becomes an issue for anyone. In the end, it's still a business; one that's been a well-oiled machine long before ANTM (see MTV's The Real World) & the contestants are pawns in that game, but are usually too young, too naive to care at the time of filming. Great interview though!
