I just got my Lettera 33 in the mail today and I am So excited!! The best part about mine is that it types in rare SCRIPT!!! Also, it was part of a collection belonging to Gordon Keith, a famous radio host and columnist here in Texas. It looks like yours in styling and colors as well as the case. I can't wait to use it for my letters to businesses and tenants, etc. Thanks for a great overview.

It really is a terrific machine, and so well engineered. I think you'll be pleased.

This video encouraged me to buy an Olivetti Lettera 33 for my first typewriter! They truly are beautiful. I’m super excited to ditch the computer screen for an analog typing experience. It just feels right. Thanks for sharing!

I'm also a collector but I gravitate towards the older desk tops and older portable that were all metallic. But I recently came across one I really like it's the olervetti 35. Cream color

Just checked out your channel & subscribed. It was fun seeing a Hammond in such good shape and typing. Nicely done!

"Collect what nobody else wants" I ran into the same issue with Model M keyboards. Used to buy them cheap. Not anymore! Nice find for $5, that is a fine looking machine. And I love the Godfather connection! I don't think my typing would be too impressive on a manual typewriter either, it's such a different experience than typing on a computer.

The Model M is iconic; it couldn't stay hidden forever.

It is an endless cycle, people begin to collect because no one else wants them, and then it becomes popular and the prices skyrocket. I do doubt that it will happen with typewriters that much though.

I've got one of these on the way, didn't get it for as cheap as you did but 15 euros was still pretty good, they are rather rare where I live. In fact it was the first Olivetti I found for sale that was under 100.

That is still a very good price, indeed. It's a fine machine.

I bought one…$15…missing the ribbon cover…marked Lettera DL but the instruction manual which came with it is marked 33. Very light touch, keyboard is strange to me. Made in Barcelona. You are right about the margins, Smith Corona also has a simple margin system like that. Where is the S/N?

There is a good side to Tom Hank's influence in the Typewriter documentary, and yes, the tides have REALLY turned, but the good side to the return to these is that manufacturing will return if the demand is there, as no one likes to watch possible money slip by when it can be made. You have a DL Sir, or Deluxe model, yours is from the late 70s early 80s. The rare ones have a red Olivetti emblem in in the basket hood lower right corner. This is a very unique design, it's basically the guts of a 22 but with a 32 body. Very good machine, just lol, do not toss the original ink spools. And No, yours is complete as far as I can see. They have that gap because like I said it's the guts of a 22 model, like the one Leonard Cohen used, with a bigger body like the 32. I've always been told that if you can't get a Hermes, then you can't go wrong with any Olivetti Lettera as they too are great easy touch keys. And really all are great be it made in Ierva, or Spain or Mexico do not let someone tell you that the best ones are made in Ierva, not true, all were made very well! Now today however that might not be so true...but this was 50+ years ago when quality was found all over the world.

Hi there I loved your video, do you sell that beautiful typewriter or do you know where can I find one of those?

This one is in my permanent collection. Other than watching eBay or Shopgoodwill, I'm not sure where one of these might pop up. Thanks, and sorry!
