I had 3 biological children and age 49 I adopted my Nephew. He was 6 months old and his father was my baby brother. He is now 23 years old and I can tell you that from the moment they placed him in my arms, he was my child, no different than if he had come from my womb. I love him more than anything! My brother passed away when my son was 9 years old. He is not only my son, but he is all that is left of my brother. What a wonderful gift from God!

I agree with Pixel that it can be a beautiful gift - the man who adopted me allowed me to escape a very toxic bio father. I was abused horrifically and the man who adopted me treated me like gold. I'm sorry your experience sucked but please don't take that out on someone else who was adopted and had an adoption experience that didn't suck.

For me being adopted it’s like my family chose me which is a great feeling. And the day I was adopted we call family day since it was the day we became a family instead of“gotcha day.” Since it can sometimes also be referred to as kidnapping (since sometimes children that are “up for adoption” in certain areas can actually be taken from their parents). Such a beautiful story happy early birthday to your gorgeous girls, lovely family.

You were so lucky because my cousin tried to adopt from Guatemala and she spent thousands, visited the little girl two times and waited a very long time to find out it was a total scam. I love this as I have always said even though their blood and genres aren’t the same they are still yours . You can not accidentally adopt. Adoption takes several months to years so eventhough they didn’t carry the child for many many months they still carry that idea of the child in their hearts for months and months possibly years and struggling to prove themselves worthy of the children and that’s a long emotional process so you love that child just as much as your biological children . To see someone’s heart so open and set to it warms my heart . This is such a beautiful story and your family is beautiful 💕
