I’d totally forgotten her syncing up with that synthesizer at the end of this song, it totally blows me away! This album was such a huge part of my adolescence and I truly love Olivia!
@jukingeo2 жыл бұрын
It was vocoder action before there were vocoders! While the whole song is great, it starts off mellow in the beginning and then slams towards the end. Overall, most of the album was a different take on Oliva and it showed a bit more an edge to her and that she isn't always mellow all the time. As a kid, I often kringed at her slower and overly mellow songs, (hence one song with 'mellow' in the title), but when she did an upbeat song, it was sheer bliss. There is no doubt that she was one of the best female vocalists of all time and while I may not have liked all her hits (namely the slow ones), there are a good number of songs of hers that I do like. Of course, she provided her voice to a couple popular movies as well, Xanadu and Grease, and I pretty much like all her songs from those movies.

Best album EVER! Bought it in '78 when I was 9 and pretty much wore it out. And I still have it!
@jukingeo2 жыл бұрын
My sister bought the album and while I will not say I as a big fan of Olivia back then since she was noted for country songs and ballads, I definitely liked the more upbeat songs on this album, particularly this song and Deeper Than The Night, so I often sneaked the album from her :).

RIP Olivia! One of my favorite songs of what I think was her best album. Olivia went down more of a soft rock path with this album, and this song and Deeper Than The Night were my favorite tracks. I love the keyboard parts and how the song just picks up near the end. When I was a kid, I remembered sneaking this album from my sister every now and then! While more noted for her movie works, Olivia was mostly a singer, starting off with country music first and then going mainstream. She was very popular for a while, but sadly when she stepped out of the limelight, her work faded in time, yet she was one of best female vocalists of all time. In modern times, she is definitely an under-rated artist, but in her time, she was very big indeed. The music industry definitely suffered a great loss today.

My “go to” album to play when I had a girl over my apartment back in the day. Worst part was having to time it just right to be able to get up and flip it over to the B side. Worked every time though. RIP Olivia, you helped create some great memories for me.

As a teenager in Iran at the end of 70:s, this album introduced me to a new untapped emotional world, in which I could connect music to the real world of falling in love with purpose and meaning. Each song in this album has a specific meaning for a particular person in my life and me, which I could never have in my absolute love. Still, I have her close to me in my imaginary life every moment. So I will love Olivia for allowing me to express myself through her songs.

I had this album in the 70's after I discovered the movie Grease and I fell in love with Olivia. Not only is she absolutely beautiful on the cover art but this is one of the few albums I have had that I like every song on it. I listened to this album so many times when I was a kid i almost wore it out. Still love it to this day.
