Olivia, you did a great job. Getting your children to connect to their roots is the best decision you have ever made. Children do get sick, whether they are in Nigeria or elsewhere.. In this case you did nothing wrong. Rather focus on strengthening their immune systems. Chim Chim will eventually grow and be out of this stage (babies are prone to sickness). NOBODY LOVES THIS CHILDREN MORE THAN YOU AND NOBODY IS MORE PROTECTIVE OF THEM MORE THAN YOU. Don't let some of this jealous suckers bully you at any opportunity they get. Plus, you are also beautiful inside and outside. Your hubby is lucky to have you. Wishing baby boy a complete recovery.

I literally lived in the NICU with my son for 6 months.. after being in the hospital myself for a month prior to giving birth. Sure it wasn’t the comforts of home.. the food not the norm, but I didn’t once mind because my son and his health was most important..the only concern. I trusted & believed in G*d and the doctors and nurses to do their jobs..and never questioned when he should or shouldn’t go home..they weren’t gonna send him home before he was ready. (Be that heaven or my home here on earth) I’d do anything and everything for him.. no matter my comfort, wants and needs. He died 3 times and I was just blessed and happy he was alive. Wish Chim well soon and I really hope you’re home sooner than later. Positive Thoughts and Prayer.

Since she have free mind, she went all out without looking back. Even on the Air Plane to their village, I observed something and told my mom I hope this little boy doesn’t come back sick. @Yasmine329 every time they return from the village, he comes down with tonsils, it only shows one thing, infection from sharing these basic things, picking things and putting in his mouth, and so on. At the end of the day, no one will help them when they're sick, so it's best to be more careful, no hard feelings.

I’m hoping for a speedy recovery for Chim…. Please ask the doctor if his tonsils and/or adenoids need to be removed….my son use to snore very loudly and kept ear infections and they removed his adenoids and he was much better.

Ahw lil man!!! Why don’t they take his tonsils out? It’s a very quick easy surgery with very little down time. I had my daughter’s tonsils taken out when she was 3 because she had major breathing problems and infections as a baby.

I wonder if the doctors suggested it and the parents said no. They appear to be people who only go to the doctor as a worst-case scenario. I wonder what their philosophy is about western medicine. Chiemeka ran a high fever and we didn't see her give him any Tylenol, nor did she mention giving him anything. She records everything but didn't record that. Maybe she did but I don't think so. Also she never mentioned getting their shots when traveling to Nigeria. We all know that it's what we are supposed to do when going to Africa.

Africa is her root. She does great by connecting her kids to their roots. Chim Chim will eventually grow out of this stage (babies are prone to sickness) just like Muna. With that said also keep in mind that Africa, with whatever it contains, is their natural habitat. It however does not mean they will not come down with something. Your diagnosis, prognosis and prescription was made by guessing, with some prejudices towards Africa in mind. If he fell sick in UK , you will not even think it's because of the UK environment, which could be the case, and you will not even suggest for anyone to stay out of UK.
