Watching your videos brings me immense pleasure , as I can relive the times of the past and the fulfillment that this sport brings. Thanks Mate.

Just to clear up my comment on Commercial fishing as have had a few people messaging me not happy about it: Perhaps my voiceover/wording came across wrong. Here is my take on commercial fishing: There is definitely a place for commercial fishing. People who say we should ban commercial fishing are just silly. Not everyone is able to go and catch their own food for a variety of reasons and take a look at the shoes on your feet, the clothes you wear, the car you drive, the house you live in. Basically everything in our society and modern lives have an impact on the environment. Do you want to ban everything? It's just not viable. When I said along the lines of 'due to commercial over fishing' It was a poor blanket summary. There are a whole lot of commercial fishermen out there doing things the right way, but it's the bigger commercial guys for example the barbaric bottom trawling methods etc and the outdated quota management system which has and is still causing destruction. I don't mean to bag the commercial guys as they are just out there trying to put food on the table for their family in the same way I am making youtube videos is some aspects. The system needs to change along with the recreational fishermen who have also abused fish stocks and wasted catch over the years. So, Apologies to the commercial guys for the comment, Not everything that I blab out of my mouth comes across right especially when editing these videos late at night! Not sure how we fix the issue at present as it is definitely a variety of factors which contribute to the decline in fish stocks and there is such a huge amount of money at play the higher in the industry you get which we all know dictates decisions. Anyway, Thats about it. As I said, commercial fishing has it's place, but things need to change esp. bottom trawling in the Hauraki gulf etc. That aside, A big thank You for watching everyone, I Hope you got something out of that video or just at least enjoyed and relaxed while watching! Although I admire your non biased reply, I would disagree to an extent. I believe any commercial fishing that exports anything at all should be banned. I believe 90% of people have the ability to fish for themselves. So I would only allow things that can be farmed to be sold at the shops. If people want different types of fish, then catch them yourselves like every other fisherman does. Pro fishing destroys every fish stock it comes in contact with. I have seen many examples of this. A creek I grew up on had the best stock of flathead and whiting for decades. Fishermen could always get a feed. Then commercial netting was brought into the creek in the late 80s. It completely destroyed the fishery. You could barely catch a fish after 5 years. The next one is the commercial trout fisherman on the barrier reef. I saw it go from abundance to just legal and under fish, even 100 miles out to sea where hardly any private fisherman get too. Next thing is commercial worming. I have been catching worms for 30 years. I know for a fact there is hardly anyone privately catching worms because I don't see many in the beaches. The worm population has gone from having 1000s on the beach to having to spend hours just to find them. Commercial fishermen are raping the ocean, and they should all be stopped, I don't care what anyone says, I have seen it with my own eyes in over 35 years of diving and fishing.

@@olliecraig-primalpursuitGreat stuff, the videos are amazing. I’m surprised how colorful the seascape is for non-tropical water! For the air mattress issue, I wonder if it is simply the volume decreasing as the temperature drops overnight? Perhaps a top off with your pump (or a small backpacking pump?) or a small heating pad underneath to maintain the temp/volume?

@Ollie Craig - I have been big fan of your channel for at couple of years now. love the videos, love the montage and composition of them too. i used to scuba dive all around Puget Sound, spear fishing for ling cod, cabezon etc. your videos help me to overcome nostalgia for diving since i sold my scuba gear while back. been considering free diving. been to New Zealand once in 1997. never got to go diving. pushing 60 now and still think about giving it one last hurrah. but for now just tried your recipes with Mayo and panko breading, fried in Irish butter, added a little dill Dijon sauce on it - it turned out - outstanding. Thank you for everything and don't worry about people saying things. They always say things. you are great hunter and procure your own nutrition. nothing wrong with that. anyhow, was going to attach pic of my plate - eating now. but couldn't figure out how to attach it to comment. Rock on Buddy - looking forward to watch your exciting videos.

Spectacular scenes, mate. We may not have coral etc but some of that fish life is amazing (as a non diving Kiwi). I see a comment in the thread about the pigfish, as I understand it they are much slower growing and more territorial, so it's better to nail snapper in terms of sustainability. Re the sleeping, what about a camp stretcher? One of the Aussie content producers I follow swears by it in his tinny. Canvas with about 5 metal rods to support it, then all dismantled and put away. No need for an inflator, and no dampness from putting down on the floor, and no deflation issues.
@olliecraig-primalpursuit3 ай бұрын
Thanks might look into that! Was hoping to have an inflatable option so I can use it went on my hunting trips camping in a tent also. Might be the best option for the boat though! Thanks
