That explained why Olly is wearing the ancient Greece band on her head because she's a demi-goddess.

There’s a scene earlier that I hope gets uploaded to KZbin. Where Mariner points out the “leaf headband thing” is a big giveaway.

They actually mentioned about Demigod right in the beginning (but they just thought she doesn't have power). The laurel are immovable constructs, closer to horns.

She isn't wearing it. The olive branch crown is part of her head. She described as a bio luminescent organ.

Remember the TOS series with a member of the same species - Apollo. He said that they *needed* worship on a certain level. Now, Becky Freeman isn't even remotely religious, but maybe the secret is that she *believes* in Olly. Same thing, different method.

At least Olly is one of those people you don't have to warn against putting her finger in a power outlet.

Ensign Olly's powers aren't a game-breaker. Blasting things with lightning powers isn't exactly in demand when it comes to Starfleet.
@MatthewJamesKalasky7 күн бұрын
Well, no need for a phaser that way.

@@MatthewJamesKalaskydoesn’t look like she can control it yet, probably more of a hail Mary of last resort rather than an effective alternative to actual weaponry. Hell Boimler got hit by friendly fire, thank Zeus it was more debilitating than lethal 😅

True but her ability to absorb and redirect energy would a serious boon.

She's also a walking replicator and precision-scale tractor beam. I'm wondering if the Ceritos is going to have to get used to Olly providing her friends with 'miracles' on occasion.

It’s rare to see a character I share a name with in the shows I watch, but a character I share a name with and can relate to? Amazing! Olly is great! (Even if I spell my name with an ‘ie’)

Okay. So trekkies of youtube, I ask this question, starfleet allows gods to join? And im guessing the same applies to those with superpowers?

I mean, there are entire species of telepathic and empathic aliens in the Vulcans and the betazoids, and we even see members of a species whose known to produce mind-altering pheromones allowed into Starfleet with Dvana tendi, so a Starfleet officer with some flavor of energy manipulation isn't that weird.
@benrussell-gough12014 күн бұрын
Starfleet lets just about *anyone* join and, I think, that Kirk may have left a note for future generations of Starfleet leadership, regretting his having to kill Apollo and asking them to just give one of his people a chance, if they opportunity arose.

A lot of things exist in Star trek
@robbiegarber8984 күн бұрын
Actually yes, the first episode featuring one was in TOS in which Apollo tried to keep the crew of the Enterprise as captive worshippers. The concept seemed to be they had in fact helped civilization develop on Earth and other planets, but then most of them left and ascended.

TOS episode Who Mourns for Adonis.
@benrussell-gough12014 күн бұрын
Yep. TOS "Who Mourns for Adonis?" - They are revealed to be psionic creatures who absorbed 'worship' and used the energy to create 'miracles'. I suspect that Mariner's belief in Olly as a person worked as 'worship' for her needs.
