Whilst I'm not a fan of covering that beautiful oak with black paint I see why you did, and it does fit in with the other doors around the yard really well. The disuse looks great. We had Latham's emergency fire exit doors fitted at the last place I worked at. They were excellent quality as I recall. Well worth the money and effort.

Boarding, is in the eye of the beholder, i think it’s perfect for the surrounding, and we are not even thinking about how good the fitting is thats a given. And the relaxing music 😊😊 as i said in my last comment ditto.

I think the blackened look really fits into the look of the rest of the courtyard. Latham are on the list for upgrading my garage side door once Christmas spending has finished :)

Yeah it fitted in lovely, I was worried it would be too sharp/crisp but it’s perfect. That have gone above and beyond to help me and really trying to achieve perfection, at the price point they demand you cannot get better I think

Haha yes, I think most are beyond a coat of stain 🫣 one set I made replacement for 10 years again and they haven’t been fitted yet. Cobblers boots!

Nice job Oliver, ....... IMO you should put some sort of pull handle on the outside, cos in frosty weather moisture can freeze doors shut and a key pull isn't enough to get them open (ask me how I know 🙃🙃🙃

Yeah I think I will add a discreet pull handle at some point, thanks!I really love not having a latch handle outside as I can secure my workshop instantly without locking while in the yard

You definitely want to scumble some brown and black paint on those hinges to age them and make them look old and rusty to match the rest of the door. Right now, they stand out like sore thumbs. Might want a little if the scumble on the lower half of the external keyway too.

Well disguised typical farmyard look - great to hide workshop inside. Decorative steel bands would add to the look . . . message this door will withstand attack! The hinges also provide an insight - this is not a standard door.
