Had the same issue with mine but ended up using ptfe spray which worked for now. Thank you for giving us the long term solution! But that aside for me the biggest issue with this saw is the rip fence which I can only describe as an engineering disaster.... might be just me but hope not as I'll have to doubt my existence if no one else hasn't had issues with it!

nice one Eddy, i got fed up of it!!! felt like i was going to snap it in rage. i agree its trash! Heard of a few people where the fence has fallen off the rails...

No worries, careful with the blade guard retract lever it breaks real easy treat with respect

Mine scraped the guiding nock a little lower too. Thanks for the video. Mine now runs smooth too. Also applied some PTFE spray after filing off the green part. You can even do it without taking off the blade, but I suggest against it.

Yes, i had to venture back and sort that a few months later!

@@BradshawJoinery Ahaa. I was already surprised how it didn't scrape at your saw but did at mine, but in the end they were identical after all, hehe. Filing off the green part for the guiding nock was definitely harder than filing off the top but I was too lazy to disassemble it further.

Thanks for that fella, that helped a lot, also helped removing a little bit of the green lever where it hits the metal tooth that the hole ting slides into if that makes sense 😬

No worries, I had noticed on mine that there is a pin in there aswell that caught a few months later right by the serrations, I had marked the top of the lever and it wasn't rubbing, but the catch had caught again so then discovered the pin 👍

Cheers PAul, great saw if you have roofing work to do, or alot of construction timber cuts. Combined with the fsk rail effortless cutting of joists and rafters etc.

Thank you! Finally a fix! :) Do you know by any chance how to replace the plastic operating lock lever? Mine's broken off and I cant see how to replace it, other than taking the whole machine apart...
@BradshawJoinery2 жыл бұрын
Which lever is that? the fastfix lever that locks the blade? Ive never looked tbh so cant help, With this fix i had to revis mine as it stuck again, there is also a pin in there that had a hangup, on the underside of the lever so look at that too

Good video Oliver.. General comment but I'm not a Festool fan, recently had to send my domino back for repair which has had very light use since buying it 5yrs ago and the repair cost me close to £200 and only came with a 6 month warranty. Really don't get the hype over this brand but each to his/her own. All the best matey and hope you're busy as usual.
@BradshawJoinery3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, im busy as ever yeah thanks, i have heard for a few issues with festool stuff, but my experience of their support has been mostly positive, it certainly is alot easier than trying to claim on Dewalt!!!!! For a start there is a phone number and you get to talk to someone....

@@BradshawJoinery i live in poland and festool service here is awesome. mine RO150 stopped working after sanding mud, one call, next day i had UPS in front of my workshop, one day later it was fixed and delivered to me free from charge. absolutely steal. festool have it's flaws for sure but overall it's worth the money, i have some bosch pro tools which are 30% cheaper but every time i use them i regret not paying more, which is not the case with festool.

@@BradshawJoinery BTW i see HK85 is your main saw and i really like the dado attachement, what do you think about this saw in general? i have TS55 as my all arounder for now but thinking about HK for crosscuts, ripping trough several sheets of plywood and turning it into tablesaw for occasional use to cut strips. Isn't it too heavy to use it daily?

Love you Ollie, but should have bought the Mafell ..

Haha cheers Matt, I bought the Festool as it has the 30mm spindle for doing the beaded grooves. Does the mafell have that system as I might be interested!

with the price of Festool you would think you wouldnt get problems like that .with a lot of power tools i have noticed a decline in quality especially from big brand names .do you think this is a trend across the board eg trading on the name???
@BradshawJoinery3 жыл бұрын
Its just the costs of things spiralling and good business. Festool were similar prices 20yr ago, all made in germany and serious tool brand, but were nowhere to be seen as average joe wouldnt pay that money for it. Now its at a more attainable price point, albeit premium, the business it alot bigger and no doubt more profitable. Ive not had many problems with festool, or other power tools tbh. I think the quality is at a point where it lasts the course of use its designed for. Overengineering kills companies, look at Wadkin, Matbro etc.

Interesting and useful but don't do it if the saw is still under warranty
@samartin7453 жыл бұрын
What a pfaff. You pay a fortune to buy the tools and end up fixing them yourself. Not just the turn around for in warranty repairs but in some situations when you do send them in it's 50/50 on whether they're actually repaired or sent back to you in same condition.
@BradshawJoinery3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, i have only had to send one tool back to be fair, and that was the jigsaw which they claimed nothing is wrong with it, but its utter trash... This saw is an absolute animal though. so good!
