I'm so fortunate that Gary & the rest of the Nerdrotic team have become good friends of mine. None of this would be possible without all of you nerds that love ancient mysteries as well. I'm very grateful & lucky to have you guys.

I still can't believe most people out there never heard of Gobekli Tepe, it was the greatest archeological find of our lifetime, yet it got barely any media coverage, compare this with say the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb which was being discussed for decades.
@CAPTDILLIGAF
@CAPTDILLIGAF Ай бұрын
Unfortunately, other than pushing back the timeline on building these kind of stone structures, the site tells us virtually nothing about the people or their fate. All the unanswered questions make it unexciting for journalists to write about in large numbers.
@bluefish4999
@bluefish4999 Ай бұрын
@@CAPTDILLIGAF Well granted it isn't full of gold and treasures (as far as we know) but it pushes back the timeline some 6-7 years, if you believe the Egyptian pyramid timeline. They also barely excavated Gobekli Tempe after all these years, so we don't know what is there, I don't see how this makes the site uninteresting, it should of been front page news, yet crickets.

I think the divide is more simply explained. There has been a creeping pervasiveness of the idea of absolute authority in all fields and all things where questioning (even in good faith) something dictated by those credentialed is considered taboo. There's no reason to expect any different in archaeology and history.

There was a massive mud flood sometime in the 1800’s. Theories are that earthquakes caused it and most old structures in America and elsewhere around the world have buried lower floors. Maybe that’s what buried the heads.
