Amanda Simeone, you cannot compare Todd Manning to Luke Spencer. Luke was drunk and thought he was going to die. He was desperate and not in his right mind. He told Laura to "go away" and leave him alone. Not saying what the did was right, but Laura was attracted to him. And Luke was immediately sorry about what he did. The same cannot be said about Todd Manning who was sadistic, evil and scary. He and several guys forced themselves on Marty. Todd killed people and terrorized them. He was a threat/menace to society. Luke was not going around terrorizing people and killing them. Luke did that ONE thing to ONE woman, Laura. Todd was a serial rapist/killer who's only enjoyment was the suffering, pain and fear of others. He was a monster. Luke, however, made a mistake, but he was not a monster. He was not SCARY like Todd was.

Nick Hipsher interesting theory! except the TOJ was already closed down and abandoned by the time powell was let out of prison which is why Todd could hide out there. Powell met Rebecca while in prison not as a fellow member of TOJ. A plot hole they could have addressed by having powell go to Rebecca's room and find the keys. it didn't bother me at the time. and soaps didn't expect people to be able to watch the same episode over and over again and pick it apart. I just have to overlook it, like I do with the crew member hiding by one of the poles during these scenes. lol.
