they was always going to have Rex be with GiGi but they needed a heart for Clint and a way for Clint and Rex start getting Close. Also giving Clint a redemption storyline for all the crap he did. Thinking he had a good heart from a good person help make Clint go back to being the old Clint. Even though it turned out to be Stacy.
