Good job on solving the problem. Since you mentioned it’s okay for a+b+c=0 I thought of drilling down a bit more. If a+b+c=0 then LHS of the first equation becomes a/(-a)+b/(-b)+c/(-c)=-3 so it’s not possible in this question since RHS is 1.

If the RHS of the first equation is given as -3, then you can add 1, to each of the quotient on LHS that will give you the result a+b+c=0 Then the second expression becomes a^2/(-a)+b^2/(-b)+c^2/(-c)?=-(a+b+c)=0

If the RHS of the first equation is any value other than 1 or -3 they have to provide the value of a+b+c to solve the problem
