Very cool to watch and listen to the conversation.

Is this the first time they’ve watched this in 8.5 years?

actually, this reminds me of something which has been going on a lot lately - when athletes like nick get elevated on a global champ race because of doping violation (in nick's case elevated from bronze to silver in 2010 for 2008 olympics), with an ongoing relationship with a sponsor (though very likely on subsequent contracts), did adidas "make him whole" by paying him the difference in what was contractually promised for silver vs bronze? i realise adidas very likely wouldn't have been obligated to do so. many athletes lose out completely because they don't have a current relationship with a sponsor at the time that their position is elevated after the fact. but i'm curious what happens when there is an ongoing relationship and which brands have a reputation for doing well by their athletes and which don't. can assume a lack of announcement to that effect means the athlete wasn't made whole for elevation of their finish position?

Getting an olympic bronze at age 33 is really impressive. (Lagat was 33 years and 8 months in Beijing 2008, but was unable to reach the final (won a bronze i Berlin one year later, though))

I wonder how a 1500m final with Hocker, Jakob, Kerr and Nuguse in the mix, that hit the bell at 2:59, would turn out (Paris 2024 final hit the 1100m mark at 2:33.5)

Ronald Kwemoi finally got a medal this year (silver in the 5000m). I would NOT have put my money on that prior to the Olympics.

Jakob (15) ran a 3:42.44 in 2016, good enough to win this final, lol (But was obviously not able to do a 50.6 seconds last lap at that age and)

Personally, I like Jacob running 3 26 more than a tactical 3 50 such as this.
