My favorite is with erin. Louis said, “oh! Of course, yes” After asking Erin a question and getting her answer. Fun to see him defer evrrything to her, and also we all learn as he asks the things he wants to learn (or for the audience as well)

Aw it sucks Erin damaged a lumbrical but it's nice to hear about them as you hardly ever do. I tore my 4th lumbrical at the start of June on a 3 finger drag and it has sucked so bad. I'm only now getting somewhere with it after 6 months. Nobody even knows about them it's all pulleys and tendons, but a lumbrical tear is horrible!! Nice to see she can climb like that but have a certain shape that she has to avoid. Makes me feel better than I'm not alone at the moment when I've felt 100% in some areas and 0% in others with the hand. Great video as aaaaaaalways! (Only 8min through so far! 😂)

Yep, such a weird injury, though great in a way as you can mostly climb through it with no worries
@johntheguru2 ай бұрын
@thenayancat8802 yeah it's really odd! The worst thing was I self diagnosed over 48 hours and nobody in the doctors or hospital had even heard of a lumbrical. Took x-rays and an ultrasound 2 weeks later, and the only person who knew what a lumbrical was was the hand specialist who did the ultrasound to confirm the tear! I'm good now but can't 3 finger drag or Gaston with right hand. Very odd one!
@alliecat10082 ай бұрын
i injured a lumbrical training 3 finger drag on a hangboard a few months ago too wanted to see a doctor about it right away but the only one in my vicinity was closed for two weeks after i injured myself and i never bothered going to one further away thankfully, it's recovered well enough with some rehab exercises (though i need to be more consistent with those) and i can do limit bouldering again but still need to be careful not to accidentally slip into drag the snap in my hand is not something i think i'll forget anytime soon though >~

@@thenayancat8802yeah I injured a lumbrical for my middle finger a year ago, it’s perfectly fine except for monos, still can’t mono without pain
@thenayancat88022 ай бұрын
@@johntheguru Aye, I self-diagnosed from a Hooper's Beta video, the differential diagnosis was super clear. To be fair, things like pulley injuries and lumbrical strains are things that are really freak injuries outside of climbing. Even most sports physios don't have a clue.

Figured I ask here, but kilter board vs tension board? Recently been doing boards and I find the kilter helps more with overall gains. While the tension feels good for grip but hard on my body personally. I’m a pretty big guy and maybe a v4 climber at most.

what is the layout of the tension board you have? i don't know if my home gym's TB2 in the US is the same as yours. Also, I've been a huge fan of your videos since I started climbing a year ago. I just have to ask if there are any specific things you worked on around V4-V5 level to improve.

Complain louder and louder. There are a few different crops of the board, and depending on what you get it can be under $10k. I think the cheapest possible set with all the holds is $5.3k
