this is an imporant point. Current gymnasts talk about how they are doing skills that are so much harder BUT the equipment they use is way better.

How did I end up here? I don't think I've ever watched a gymnastics video before, yet here I am. This is why I love KZbin sometimes, it can show you things you didn't know you wanted to watch. Great job, so much respect for your skills and the dedication.

I did gymnastics at school in the 60s. No bouncy mats every mistake hurt. Even if you got it right it hurt. However for all the bruises, spraiins, and breakages it was the most enjoyable sport of all we had to do. I think the disadvantage you guys had was that you knew that there was a better and safer way to things, we didn't. Great video.

"Come here. Not competitive, let's support each other'. That right there ladies and gentlemen is why these guys are top tier. Get you some friends that can support you over absolutely everything else and do so whole heartedly and genuinely. The ability to put aside your own desires or pride to support a mate is the greatest strength anyone can have.

It’s interesting how gymnastics equipment evolves and changes so much over time. It’s also interesting that no matter the sport a group of guys coming together to see what they can do becomes a bit competitive, even if it’s just friendly.

Yaaay a pommel video! Luke is actually not bad at all for someone who hasn't done pommels in that long. But he also has quite long arms compared to his body or at least his torso, which helps clear the legs from the horse.

My old Grandad was a gymnast. He would have loved this stuff. Unfortunately he died well before KZbin and the Web were even thought of. We had a pommel horse at school but nobody qualified to teach it. I was champing at the bit to give it ago but was never allowed. 50+ years later, it's a little late for me to start.

Our gym teacher in school was Leigh Jones (ex British gymnastics champion). Shortly after I'd left school, he appeared in the Sure deodorant TV advert as the gymnast on the rings... I heard after that, whenever he told the kids to do something in the gym, they always asked if he was 'sure' 😁 Andrew Morris was in our class in school, he went on to become British gymnastics champion himself.... I was shit at it though 😅

I have such respect for commitment and watching an athlete persevere and not give up- but I have to say, there's an equal respect and admiration for these guys who know how to assess risk vs reward, when to step back and not just "give it another go," because they know the chances of them getting hurt is increasing, *and also* not beat themselves up about any of it. I think we could all take a lesson away here about how choosing to *not complete something* doesn't mean you *failed*

When you pronunce "magyar", you are saying it like "madyar". In hungarian "gy" is actually only one sound. English almost has this sound when you say DUE. First sound of due (the mixture of d and u) is almost the same as "gy". So now you can try it yourself and build this word as ma"du"ar.

Nile's professional gymnast skills and his physical "build" for this apparatus made it a joy to watch him. Luke has the gift of height and arm length but is not polished as a gymnast, so while his performance was very good, he doesn't have the typical appearance of a professional gymnast. Ashley has the skills of a professional gymnast, but he needs to train more to build up his stamina and strength 💙💙💙

We've had tears when he's scored a big fat 0 at competition and we've had (over)enthousiastic mothers when he's got a great score.... try as I might I can't get him to enjoy this piece of equipment...I thought it was because he's tall and has long legs... but Stoney just blew that theory out of the water.... so now I'm hoping laughing along with you lot will help him ready for the new season!!
